    Very jealous you're seeing Tribes.

Any idea of what sort of setlist they play these days? A mix of The Low End Theory and Midnight Marauders would be fantastic.
I was there on Sunday, but I've only ever listened to The Low End Theory, so only recognised a few tracks from their performance (I'm guessing it was a mix of tracks from all their albums, similar to what Nas and Jay-Z did in their sets). They were very very good and surprisingly energetic, although Phife did look rather old.

You must be real middle class to think "he been around for time' is gangster.

    This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4Tv7lAt3r4) is flipping brilliant

edit: it's Tom Caruana's remix of Wu Tang Clan with Beatles-inspired backing tracks. Very tasty - Enter The Magical Mystery Chambers

You mean "very middle class" yeah? Or was that an autocorrect thing too?

Anyway, Tribe were awesome awesome awesome. They knew their audience and just stuck to the tunes everyone wanted to here. I guess not having new stuff is an advantage in that sense. Could have done with a bit more of that from Nas and Jay-Z, but fair enough, both were still excellent.

A$AP Rocky was a joke. Wasn't mad about him before. Can't stand him now. Bullshit set of him just standing there and saying the odd word when he felt like it over a backing track. Basically karaoke. And requesting the girls to show their tits. Absolute moron. The oldies had ten times the class and talent.

Just off the back of the whole Tribe thing, there's an excellent J Period Q-Tip mixtape which you can get through iTunes etc that is really worth picking up. It's essentially a best of Tribe and Q-Tip, but with so many new remixes and new stuff that it completely justifies a purchase even if you have everything. Brilliant album.

In fact all the J Period mix tapes are worth picking up if you come across them. He does a sort of audio-documentary style that is really good, and loads of the tunes are unique remixes with new verses and features and stuff. He's done one for Nas, The Roots and Nate Dogg which are all brilliant. There's a good Michael Jackson one I picked up as well.

...I think there's an opening for (Chicago) Gangster rap out there. Give it a really nasal voice, lots of cymbals and a double bass, and punctuate it with machine gun fire. That would be amazing.

    (betcha I'll be olded)

I would have thought the scouse accent would make it sound gangsta, but then I personally am not all that scouse having not grown up in the city. I'm not from the street... I'm from a street :)
