Everything from Stillmatic onwards is worth a listen, although definitely inconsistent. I'd say I Am and Nastradamus are his only out and out bad albums (and even they have a couple of bangers on).

RICK ROSS IS THE FUCKING BOSS!

but yeah Nas has been killing it for years! illmatic is easily in my top 5 Hip-Hop albums of all time!

"before a blunt, I take out my fronts"

Easily the best advice anyone has ever given me! can't be smoking as many blunts as Nas with these fronts in the way!

@bennyw01 heh, did you know that there's another Rick Ross, called Freeway Rick Ross, who was a huuuge drug dealer back in the 80s, that says the fat rapper stole his identity? Aaaand, did you know that Rick Ross used to be a prison guard before he started rapping about fabricated drug deals? It's crazy

Yeah I swear there was mad 'Beef' between the two with the Freeway version originally planning on suing Rick Rock for basically taking his back story and using it as a bit of back drama for his rap game career.

Long story short is that I swear Freeway has recently featured in one of Rick's video hustlin' or something.

Rick Ross prob stole most of his music from talented people stuck behind bars. He better head back to prison and start taking off his shoes! if he wasn't so loaded he'd be getting an ass whooped! either way Hustlin' is a massive song! and all his cds remain on a very dusty pile full of other Miami orientated rappers.

For the love of the game and Kels:

    is anyone headed to this:

Freddie is easily in my top 3 rappers at the moment:

The Ghetto is the biggest song of 2012 for me!

"When I dress, it's never nothing less than Guess."

Nas didn't even know how good he was back then. He just spat out perfect rhymes and didn't think a thing of it. Proper child prodigy.

Nah Freeway Rick Ross is just a dude who was the biggest street level dealer in the US in the 80s when crack first hit. He was on Joe Rogan's Podcast recently and seemed really cool.

He was fine with Freeway having paid tribute to his street name but was pissed off that fake-Rick Ross basically re-appropriated his name and his history without acknowledging that that is what he had done. To this day fake-Rick Ross claims Rick Ross is just a nickname his mates gave him before before he started rapping.

@Blaketown Ah, didn't know you listened to the Rogan podcast! Freeway came across as a really nice dude when he appeared on it, I thought.

Train by day, Joe Rogan podcast by night, all day.

Yeah, I generally make a bee-line for the MMA related ones (Faber, Sonnen, Mike Dolce), or whenever there's a comic on that I've heard of. Have you ever heard Joey Diaz on there? He's fucking crazy.

Yeah, he's a force of nature.

The MMA fighters are invariably intelligent, eloquent and just genuinely nice people. Somehow don't expect that.

Dan Hardy (& Redban) was on the Doug Benson podcast last week if you don't subscribe to that one and missed it (Here).

Liked her older mixtapes. Not heard the new one yet.

She's definitely got skills but needs to put together a coherent album.

Edit: Listening now and this seems a lot less like a teenager acting out over random beats than the other two. I like it.

I haven't heard anything else by her so I can't say how Reservation compares, but it sounds like it's had a lot of time and probably some money spent on it.

Listening to it again now, and it's excellent stuff.

Her first two Mixtapes were angry and unfocused and as a result very patchy but she is clearly very talented.

Turns out I was listening to a different one from earlier in the year called "Voice EP" and enjoyed it very much. Downloading "Reservation" now.

    Brap, brap, old chap.

Nas it totally inconsistent for me: one minute he's killing it, the next he's rapping about UFO's. The new album has some great tracks, though!
He does it all in one track in 'We're not alone' off of untitled.

Recently discovered a band called Ekundayo and I am loving their self titled album from last year.

It's a pan-American Hip Hop/Jazz/Psych/Funk collective spanning Sao Paulo to Chicago and many points in between. Including legendary percussionist Naná Vasconcelos and one time Ninja Tune signing Mike Ladd.

If you like your Hip Hop pushing boundaries it might be for you:
