Got let out of work 45 minutes early. Superb, as it was a shit day. Drive this morning was torture, and the way home not much better.

Fuck off snow, I want to catch my flight on Wednesday!

I thought hail was layered like an onion, because it bounced around in the clouds for ages. Mind you, that's what I was taught in school, and I was taught some awful bollocks back then. I should go and research it, but frankly I'm boring myself with this conver....

    zzz...

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

I wanted to catch my flight on Friday night, but as of now I've still had no joy - 3 cancelled flights so far, lucky number 4 is tomorrow night....

Damn. Binned the car into a concrete bollard last night. Not only A bollard, but a large lump of masonry between the villages that served to rip off parts of the car that had survived impact.

It was maximum 5mph yet managed to burst the radiator, break the bumper and bend the front chassis section. Never had to claim insurance before but they were very good, as was the AA guy that towed me when he didn't need to because he knows my brother!

I passed the incident in Glasgow the other day that you may have heard of where two girls were killed when a range rover hit them at 40mph. I felt so sick after I hit a bit of concrete it is unimaginable what happens when you hit a person

That's why I wouldn't take the car out when the roads are like that. Too risky! Even
If you drive well there is a good chance that some other dickhead doesn't.

Yep. Sadly the weather was upon us while out having been totally clear earlier in the day. Ah well, at least it was down a side road in 1st gear

Heh. There is your problem. Never use 1st gear on snow!

Oops. Anyway, it was 1st as I was using it as engine breaking for a downward slope on a corner. No throttle that's for sure

Oddly enough, you can actually cause a skid by engine braking on ice / snow. The sudden deceleration can cause your wheels to lose traction. But that depends entirely on how harsh the downshift was.

...and Lukey is referring to your brain.

Yep, figured lucky a bit late there- stammer since the crash!

I hadn't down shifted fir a good bit before hand so it was when I touched the brake the ice under the snow made itself known. I have been driving in the snow plenty but this little bugger caught me out

Driving in the snow is fun! It's like being a rally driver. A rally driver going really slowly in a really underpowered car admittedly, but still.
My road was almost completely clear of cars earlier so I decided to floor it in second (an educated risk), it was awesome! Slipping and sliding all over the place, but I still felt in control, countering the skid. I swear years of video games have given me some kind of edge in this aspect :D

    Lukas, tomorrow.

Wrote off my fucking car today. :(

Was drifting around a corner and gave it a bit too much opposite lock. Clipped the kerb and rolled the car into a bush. Thankfully the roll cage held out.

We were supposed to get a big storm last night. I was all prepared to work from home and not shower and everything else.

I get up and look out the window... and, naught. :(

Ventured out earlier and managed to skid to a stop as I swung it into a car parking space. It was ace. Even only going 2mph. Glad of the rain though.

Missed out on my niece's 16th tonight. Feel a bit guilty but there's no way in hell I'm getting out of the street short of sticking a rope out to the lamp post on the main road and pulling the damn thing up the hill.

I'm sure she won't care as long as you got her something nice.

My niece just turned 16 as well. She was talking about kissing a boy. I left the room.

I'm fairly certain they get up to more than that at 16... or at least they did in my day and I imagine it's worse now. Best you don't think about it, old man. :D
