I'd definitely be interested in hearing if the UK version of that is region free as it appears to be cheaper than getting the US import.

Excellent, I'll be getting this on Blu Ray. Thanking you
Hopefully Generation Kill will be released sooner rather than later.

Generation Kill is awesome. It's online in HD in the usual places, don't think it'll be one for HD audio, it's more about the characters than the war

Yeah, I got mine a couple of weeks back from Amazon and finished watching the last of the ten episodes earlier on this week. It's superb on BD, the HD picture and DTS audio really do the format justice and it's a notable improvement over the DVD release which I saw a couple of years ago. The picture-in-picture commentary from the surviving Easy Company veterans looks really interesting too although I've not got round to watching it properly.

Best mini-series ever IMO and *the* absolute best WWII "movie" I've ever seen... I found it really moving, it even brought a tear to my eye on more than one occasion. Worth every penny of the 35 I paid for it.

PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Xbox One, PC (Intel Core i7-4770K, 16 GB, 3 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780, Windows 8.1 Pro), iPad 4, iPad mini with Retina Display.

Sing it, brother. BoB is amazing. Only the most cold-hearted person could watch the last two episodes and not get a tear in their eye, especially the talking heads they have at the very end.

I would give it a 9/10, but what turns me off is the British company seen at the beginning; only one guy talking and he's a cock, enthusiasm reaching ankle level. I care of this sort of stuff

Think I'm going to work my way through the series... for the twentieth time. Starting tonight.

    That is all.

EDIT: Apparently Tom Hanks plays a British officer in the series. Can't recall him at any point. Anyone know when he crops up?

If you've got a PS3 - get the Blu-Ray version of this! It's one for the ages! Video and Audio quality are impeccable (I'm watching it on a 40" LCD with DTS-HD 5.1 sound through my amp).....

It's superb! HMV are selling the BD version quite cheap at the moment, 25 here in Ireland! (In fact, I'd love to get another to keep sealed as a back-up copy (yes, I'm that mental) cos I payed about 70 for it this time last year).....

The best TV show on Blu (for picture & sound) at the moment, along with Mad Men (haven't seen the Battlestar Galactica BD yet).....

Yeah, I struggled with the last two episodes. It's rare I develop tears from something shown on television. Band of Brothers was a pretty special series. Anyone whose not seen it, I would suggest they obtain it and watch it anyway they can. Probably the best piece of moving drama ever shown on television.

Has anyone got this on blu ray recently and noticed some extra scenes not in the dvd or tv versions?

I've only really watched carentan but theres a scene where they break down a door into a house and find a french family sheltering. Another one is a priest giving last rights during the battle and bullets are wizzing past and a electrical pole falls down and he just continues his job moving onto the next soldier.

I really don't remember those scenes and I've watched it lots times

I think the family sheltering one is definitely in the original series and the other one sounds familiar as well.

Those are both 100% definately in the original DVD set and TV programmes.

If i remember rightly, the sheltering family is from carentan when malarky decids not to throw a grenade through a window. The Padre administering last rites is the same episode or possibly crossroads? and is the one where winter's get shot in the foot by a ricocheted bullet.

It's not it was a deal of the day only, which I forgot to do. It is only 18 quid on Amazon though. One for my Christmas list I think.

    This space left intentionally blank.
