    Done.

The 'Why we fight' episode, however - not so easy.

Just got this on blu ray. Watching it again. Ross from Friends plays a good part. Guy from homeland is awesome, guy from Office Space is awesome. I really need to learn actor names :D

I've never seen something film quality on TV before. The sopranos perhaps. HBO is awesome.

Finally picked up the box set on blu ray. On part two so far, so plenty of viewing to go. :)

Nice "where are they now?" roundup, although Fassbender has done so much more than they mention.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

A bit light on Dexter Fletcher too. As for this guy...

No mention at all! Even though it was one of the most memorable performances from the entire series.

So anyone watching Generation War? German Band of Brothers. Very good, but more brutal, as it does deal with the atrocities.

Yeah started last Saturday. It's on Iplayer. It certainly was not described as a German Band of Brothers. The BBC listed it as the story of ordinary Germans during war time.

It's not quite the same. Two brothers on the front line in Russia, one Jewish friend at home with his German GF and one girl serving in the medical corp. Covers more than the fighting.

Which sounds fine to me. I just think saying it's the story of ordinary Germans during war time sounded like it was all going to be on the home front. If it had been described as a German band of brothers I would have been all over it. Still I can catch up with it now.

It's a mixture of the two. I probably shouldn't have said BoB, but it does have frontline soldiers and fighting, so elements of it.

Thanks for the recommendation FWB. I enjoyed the first episode but couldn't help but feel it was going to great lengths not to glamorise their lives at all. Very different from shows that focus on the allied perspective.

In fact most of the time I couldn't help but think about this:
