Dirtbox, you are hosting what may well be the most popular thread on the forum in the next few months. You have to be nice.

    Nice :)

    Be nice!

    /thinks Dirtbox will fail
It's Dirtbox ffs Mapster. It will end in tears.
Great thread though I used to have one here but it fell into disrepair.

The first post in that thread would be absolutely superb, Barton, if it was up to date. Could be a useful template for someone to adjust as we get closer to the UK launch.

It's so nice when people think you are useful. Fleeting feeling, doesn't cost a thing.

You're my shining beacon of hope for the PS3 mentality, being the only person I know who owns one, has some sense and a grasp of a human language.

I hope you're going to help me out with this thread once it all kicks off.

Parental controls are built into the hardware :)

He didn't deny that. Regional identification is also built into the hardware and censorship is built in to some of the software(I've provided addic's link again, as you clearly didn't read any of it, and it is evidence from the people who actually have made one of the PS3s lead games, rather than an EG news story which is over a year old), and CANNOT be circumvented with the console's parental controls.

I clearly didn't read any of it because I don't really care. I'm not trying to pass myself off as knowledgable by any stretch. i just want to keep all the PS3 crap together in one place.

Either give me something concrete to change the entry to or forget it.

    Can't say fairer than that!

I swear I've seen more of Mapster since he got all modded up than I've ever seen of him here before. In my sleep-deprived state I'm getting a little tetchy and frankly quite bored of reading posts that are just moderation where it's not really needed.

I hope you're going to get tired of this and settle down soon. Perhaps then certain people might stop baiting you... ;)

Not really the place owen, find somewhere else to rage your war on over moderation. I think you'll find it's also kalel who's been quite trigger happy recently, so don't go off at the wrong person.

I just tested the Japanese version of Resistance Fall of Man on a Japanese console with the parental control switched off, and there is no blood.

If you use the fix in the eurogamer thread involving a US save file you can get blood.

This should turn out to be a really informative FAQ then.

Either give me something concrete to change the entry to or forget it.

stevo e-mailed Insomniac, and they told him the only way to bypass the Japanese no-blood censorship on Resistance: FoM is to download a starting save from the US version of the game and begin his game from this. As this is a regionally enforced censorship specific to the Asian market, it CANNOT be disabled via parental controls.

Have no fear about it being complete and comprehensive, I've done this a few times on various subjects (albeit with slightly more zeal and rather less disdain). Every question asked will get an answer. As to when it gets an answer depends on the charity of others.

I don't pretend to be an authority on the PS3 and never will. I am most assuredly good at making threads that offer use, though. Thank you for your concerns, they're noted and I'll cut out the bullshit comments.

I hope Hughes will be a helpful bunny in this thread when the time comes. I don't mind being corrected in the least, but I don't like people showing up just to do that then eff off back into the ether.
