Ta.
Was thinking about getting a PS3 slim for my mum and dad for Xmas, the 160GB one and then getting a large HDD at a later date so they can use it as a media player. Sadly after having a shop around I've realised they're out of my price range at the moment.
Still, I'll bear it in mind for my PS3 for the future

Registered 8 years agoIs there any fix to stop my PS3's clock from 'drifting'? Even though I re-set it to the correct time, over a few weeks it ends up being about 5-10 minutes slow.
Not exactly a massive issue; more of an irritating niggle... -

Registered 8 years agoDoesn't it get it off the net? Maybe the rest of your house is drifting 5-10 minutes in to the future. Thanks for expressing interest in my signature!

Well, all things are possible, but my money's on the PS3. I think you can only set the clock via the Internet manually... Maybe auto-update is a PS thing ;P

Registered 7 years agoThe time on my PS3 drifts as well, I just use the option to set it via the net manually every once in a while. -

My PS3 is showing YLOD, so I'm asking for a new one for Christmas.
Anyone seen one for less than £190? That's the cheapest I can find one for online. -

I would assume so, but just double check you have them in your download list right now.

I would also try downloading one again and try installing it if you're exceptionally paranoid about it
Edit: It's still in my download list so I think you should be alright.

Getting the same. I suspect the network is down. Twice in a week is unacceptable in my opinion.

Registered 2 years agoHello
I want to fit a larger HD in my PS3 slim. I know everything I need to do (upgraded a friends PS3 before) but I have a question about my BF3 game save.
It says the BF3 game save is copy protected. Can I not transfer it? Will I lose all my SP and MP saves?
Thanks -

Registered 7 years agoDon't think you'll lose your MP progress no but your SP save will be lost. -

I concur. The only way around it is to be a playstation plus member. You can move the save files onto the cloud and then transfer them across after installing your new drive.

If you have PS+ you can upload it to the cloud and then retrieve it after the change. -

I thought the backup process allowed you to restore locked saves to the same machine that they originally came from. All the locking does is make sure you can't transfer the save to a different PS3.
I'm not 100% sure on that, but I'm fairly certain that my Demon Souls save backed up and was restored without any problems. -
