For now, can people just use Google Maps or has an app not been made yet or the mobile web version ?

Did Apple not test this much. Can't be that bad but it actually is.

They had it in the beta, but people just assumed that they would put the good data in at release.

But yeah, you can still use the website version of google maps, it's just not properly integrated (obviously).

Maps is easily my most used app that's not a game. This is kinda putting me off updating.

Nokia do like to be quick when they see an opening.

I was genuinely surprised to find that only Nokia has turn by turn offline. Seems bizarre.

    Bugger me sideways ...

    ... iOS6 uses up 2.7GB of memory!

And the Maps malarkey is brilliant. Absolutely woeful stuff.

Maybe it's a test to see how much people really rely on Google maps ;)

So... iOS 6 is a bit of a bugger. Main gripes:

    - Maps has no satellite data for Brighton.
    - Mail no longer allows you to have a custom font size. The forced standard is too small for my eyes.
    - You can no longer download new podcast episodes through the Music app -- it forces you to use the shitty Podcasts app.
    - Once the Podcasts app is installed, the podcasts section is forcibly removed from the Music app.
    - The official apps are quickly losing design coherence. Why is the toolbar sometimes blue, sometimes, black, and sometimes white? I'd prefer a bit of consistency.

Can I ask... Why are people choosing to upgrade?

You can increase the size in Settings > General > Accessibility > Large Text, but it changes text for other built-in apps too.

Yeah I found that -- the choices are Regular (12pt), Giant (20pt), or even larger. I just wanna bump it up a couple of pixels to 14pt.

I haven't tried this new Podcasts app yet, but can you listen to podcasts in the background, like when playing a game? I'm not going to start using it until this is confirmed. Thanks.

That's why I use the 'Downcast' app ... because it is absolutely fantastic.

The 'Podcasts' app is truly horrendous.

Because my current iPhone is over 2 years old and is a bit knackered.

I deleted the Apple Podcasts app (on iPad) and paid for Downcast. Never looked back.

The most annoying thing about the podcast app is that there doesnt appear to be a 'get more episodes' button anymore, which is hugely annoying.

Other than that, the decision to go with side scrolling menus in the app and itunes storefronts is an absolute disaster.

A million times this, the Podcasts app is a skeumorphic abortion, Downcast ftw.

"Do you wish to send iMessage contacts a notification that you've read their message?"

Why the fuck would I want my wife to know I've read her message but chosen not to reply immediately??

Blimey, the headphones are actually good, I'm very surprised by this after years of apple supplying awful phones.

Well as I have to wait til I'm in London Oct 5th to get my iPhone5 I'm making do with playing with the new functionality in iOS 6..

Does anyone know if you can restrict (probably Face-book side) what Facebook contacts synch across, I think the functionality would be useful but not for every passing aquaintaince I have accepted a friends request from, but a subset (maybe using the Close Friends function or similar FB has already)?

Or do I have to wait for iOS 7!
