Registered 8 years agoDamn it, it's just a remake of the last PoP game with the Wii controls nailed on. I'm losing respect for Ubi. -

Ffs. :/
Only a few years ago, Ubisoft was one of the most respected publishers, but that lasted only a couple of years. Nowadays it's sequels, sequels, sequels, bad conversions, and downright awful games. -

They're still bloody good on the 360, though.

I think when it comes to the Wii they're just playing very safe, which is a huge pity. Hopefully they will pull their finger out and get cracking on some interesting stuff for it soon. -
Looking down their 360 titles, I'd have said they were playing very safe there too.

Well, yeah, in terms of franchies and the like I'd agree. Just saying th at what games they're doing are, on the whole, Rather Good on the 360.

It's a shame, they need to re-write their control handling routines before they start doing stuff like this.
TBH the POP games need the Wiimote like a fish needs a bicycle.

Registered 8 years agoIn the preview Q&A they've also got on there the Ubisoft guy says it's the best POP he's played thanks to the controls. But then he would say that wouldn't he. Watching the video, it just looks wrong to me. -

Anyways. This reminds me to get hold of a copy of POP for the NGC.If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

Some of it looks wrong, some of it looks kinda like it might work. The main issue I had was that there seemed to be dozens of different gestures to remember. It was complicated enough with a joypad.

I don't recall any of the PoP games having widescreen support btw, Tonka. So it probably is 4:3. -

Registered 8 years agoGestures with the Wiimote I could be convinced might work nicely. But neither Zelda nor Red Steel have given me much faith that the nunchuck is sensitive enough for fancy gestures. -

Why do you say that? surely it'll be vaguely the same as zelda combat wise - theres no real need for the wii remote in zelda combat either, in fact often a button would be better

i'm looking forward to this, never really played any of the PoP games since PoP 2 (as in the OLD 2) -

To be honest, you'd be far better off picking up a Cube version of Sands of Time. Even if the gestures work, Two Thrones isn't a patch on the original.

PC version of Two Thrones has a 16:9 option, so i assume the console versions did too. SoT and WW were 4:3 only.
