By and large Hearne's new introductions are a good thing. Prize money for the less well known players has increased and the whole thing is fairer now, opening up the competition to all the pros, not just he same select few.

@Ironlungs76 to be fair, the occasion has been a huge part of it.

    Much ado about nothing imo.
At what point? Watched about 15 mins now and it's not happened.

It's right after he plays the shot at 14m31, he stands back and puts the cue between his legs and "polishes" it.

@ecureuil cheers. Well, as you rightfully said, that's a fuss over nothing.

Totally blown out of context if you ask me, I replayed it about ten times and couldn't see anything wrong and had to come and look for an "explanation".

Is it supposed to be like this?

Worse worlds since cheating cunt fat boy Higgins last won.

Should be totally one sided, even if Ronnie is playing at 10%.

I have followed and played snooker ( to a highish standard) for over 30 years, and the current scene is by far the worst in all that time. The trouble with all the seeds getting knocked out early doors is that it makes the latter stages all the more poorer, as you have lost the seasoned match play pros.

I'm going for Ronnie by at least 10 clear...or he will park a poo on thr baize and walk out ;-)

I'm not even sure we'll get an evening session tomorrow. The only way that you can see Hawkins winning is if Ronnie has a meltdown.

O'sullivan did it a few times and some audience members complained, it's not all down to that one clip. and it's not totally clear if that was even one of the incidents.

I personally am hugely offended by it ;)

I think Ronnie will win, but It won't be as one sided as you guys are saying..he'll win 18-15/18-16 and be behind at points.

Hawkins is a great player, what'll be the difference is if he can take the pressure, I'm not sure he'll be able to towards the end.

Hawkins has been impressive so far. I don't think he'll claw back the deficit but I really hope he does win it.

I thought 18-10 to Ronnie, but I'm hoping Hawkins can claw it back.

Just unbelievable to take a year out and come back like that. Suppose mentally fresher, but that is countered by the rustiness, and the f act it is Ronnie.

A better final than I would have thought, fair play to Bazza for making a game of it at least.

That was the poorest world championship I've seen in years. The quality on a whole was dire. They field basically rolled over and gave it to Ronnie from day one, yet the pundits seem to be intent on pushing it as one of mankind's great achievements against all the odds.

I think if Hawkins had taken his chances the score would've been a lot closer, maybe in his favour. A lot of 50 pluses weren't converted into frame wins. It wasn't a one sided competition by any means, it just looked it towards the end.

Agree re the standard being so very poor this year. The worst I can remember ever, bound to happen when the seeds get knocked out early doors.
Since Embassy lost Snooker (I know it has been a while)the Worlds seem flat to me, very understated, shite colour sceme!?

I can still remember crying (yes crying, man/boy tears you understand ;) ) when Davis lost his title to DT all those years ago, that was Snooker.

So Higgins (World number 1 at the time, and "ambassodor for the future of the sport" etc) gets 6 months and Stephen Lee (simple minded, easily led chubby guy that isn't real important for the game) gets 12 years. I see.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise half of them are stupider than that

Still pisses me off how he got away with that.

    Re Fixing
The WPBSA has a zero tolerance approach to match fixing and this is further evidence of our uncompromising approach to dealing with such issues," said a spokesman.
