Cool! How can you get tickets if your girlfriend has a rather dull, non-beeb related job?

No, Barnstaple. He plays Belfast on the 2nd November.

Jack Dee is probably the only famous person to have played the Heriot Watt student union. Don't know that he was particularly famous at the time(Oct91), but he was jolly amusing.

This is very sad but my wife won £50 on noels house party.

    /dies of shame

Still £50 is £50 and they paid for everything. All that took was one quick email.

Err, OK. I knew little of the stand up scene in those days I must admit.
Anyway, he's still famous now which beats the Paris Angels.

/waits for slagging from Paris Angels fans....

I saw Al Murray, pub landlord, play Glasgow Uni's Queen Margaret Union. He was absolutely hilarious.

I like Lamarr, he consistantly makes me laugh.

I just read that back to myself as 'I like Llama' which is nice.

    /doesn't take eyes of screen.

If you could land a few that would be great. I'm in the process of planning a road trip down to London with a few friends, and that would be a great excuse to go.

I've heard that Buzzcocks takes about an hour and a half to record, and they have to cut loads of inane banter that's not funny enough for TV. The person I heard this off was quite bitter about having wasted two hours to see half an hour's worth of material, but then he is quite a bitter person. Maybe all shows are made like that. Don't let me put you off.

More importantly it's got Bill Bailey and so you should go without a question.

I would. And so would Otto.

Yes, you're probably right. Especially (relatively) unscripted comedy shows.

Indeed they are, but that can be the fun. The least fun bit is when the producer says, 'We didn't catch the laughs properly after the 'big knockers' joke, can you do it again' and the panellist in question has to redo the gag and you all have to laugh heartily again!!

/nods and smiles, look at the monitor

Hopefully it will be. Reviews say it is his best yet but they would say that.
To be honest I reckon it will be much like 'are you...?' and the other one, where it is him talking about a boring subject (Googlewacking) but making it interesting.

If I get a chance I will post friday morning to let you know how it was.

That would be appreciated Neverness. I need to know what level to set my expectations at: it correlates with the amount of beer I'll be drinking beforehand.

Did you see any of his other shows (on TV or live) or have you read his book?

If so, that is probably the level you are after.

I will try to get access to a PC, I am on leave tomorrow so may not be able to.

    edit: makes more sense now...

To be honest I found his "I'm Dave Gorman" TV shows rather irritating, yet I admit some of his stunts really made me laugh. However, let's not underestimate the effect of being surrounded by good-natured theatre goers wanting to be entertained. Often turns mildly good entertainment into exceptionally entertaining.

Well, I went to see it last night and most entertaining it was. Just like watching a very long live episode really. As fortune would have it, it was the Christmas edition of the show which meant we were treated to some more intricate rounds than normal. They also ask a lot more questions than actually get aired to edit out the ones that didn't get the sort of humourous responces that make good telly.

The guests were Alison something from Goldfrap who was the most miserable bint I've ever seen, saying a maximum of six words throughout the show, Gloria Honeyford (for Errol) who tried, bless her. Some girl from some black girl band like Mystique (I forget) who was wearing an obvious wig, but wouldn't admit it much to Lamars constant nagging. DJ Sammy, who was an irritating little Spanish pratt - not that theres anything up with being Spanish, but he WAS a pratt and very Spanish.

The highlights consisted of a round where a Gospel choir sings the first lines of a song and the panel complete the song, next were a VERY English Choir. It was funny because they sung songs like I Like Big Butts and Smells Like Teen Spirit, you'll see what I mean when the show gets aired.

Bill Bailey was ace, Jupiter not so much. They were amusing on the Dance Dance Revolution pads that they had to dance on whilst singing a song for the 3rd panel member to guess though.

I believe Mike asked where to get tickets from, well click here and apply for some.
