Noticed that I had this page open on my phone from last night but didnt post. I remember being very drunk and dropping a whole pizza on the floor 2ft away from my bedroom door. Rectifying that now with ordering expensive pizza.

On my second bottle of ale and then it's onto the scotch. I've had a shit week and intend to viciously erase it from my mind.

Finished work at 1pm yesterday and went straight to the pub. Left about 8pm and somehow found my way home. Woke up today and realised I'd lost my glasses. Called the pubs I was in but no luck... sadface.

I'm quite drunk. It's not even 5pm yet. I should be ashamed but I'm not tho. Still lots to drink yet.

I'm not sure, but when I wandered past there a couple of months back it seemed to be shut up tight.

Someone told me it had 'funny' opening hours. But we normally go after work, so it's at least 6 ish by the time we get there, which has to be a respectable time to be open.

Can't have been closed for renovation, as it's still in the same beat up shape as it's always been in :)

Yeah, you can sometimes come home with an unexpected memento of the night in the shape of some of the upholstery stuck to your arse.

Still, I love that pub. I haven't listened to the sort of music associated with it in more than a decade, but it still usually gets a visit if we're ever out and about in town.

Yeah its a good place. Feels like a proper pub and in a good location. I should arrange a few more visits actually - its just the wrong direction for me when going home. But that's no excuse!

Actually, talking of pubs 'round here', one of my favourites has to be the Star in glossop. Fantastic ciders, friendly landlord, proper old pub decor and no twats. That's pretty hard to beat most of the time

The only decent pub within spitting distance of here is The Volunteer. It's great. Holts' beer and bitter old men.

    What's not to love?

No, it's in Sale in Trafford.

I used to frequent a Holts' pub called The Old Monkey on Portland street that was awesome before it went all family friendly.

Flowers on the tables. It was scary.

Yeah, been there a few times.

We normally avoid the centre nowadays and end up in the northern quarter. Port Street Beer House is good, but pricey. Night and Day is a good place, especially if you like music

I find the lack of draught in Night & Day upsetting. Been to some great gigs over the years there though.

I don't go into town much at all these days and I'm not really a fan of the northern quarter. Too expensive and hipsterish.
