Not sure having discussions with the word discussion in is such a good idea. Links to discussions that read "Back to General discussion discussion" just look stupid.

I'm not sure I like the new ignore feature. Before, when someone was on ignore, their presence was barely known, now I find myself wondering what bile has been spewed over the forum that I can't see! :(

    /is hard to please

Edit: or what Whitey said above in a better way!

Best thing about the new layout. The "Switch to Old Layout" button! :-O!

No, honestly it looks nice, but I'm going to stick with old style for a bit, I don't do change very well.

Old-style layout here, though I do appreciate the new stuff (filtering out the flaming sport category AT LAST) greatly.

It allows you to keep an overview about the latest posts in less used categories much easier. If someone contributes to the, say "what are you reading thread", you'll never know if you aren't here for an hour as it'll be on page 3 by that time, while it might still be on the new frontpage.

So even if you generally prefer the old style (which I do as well), the new one can be very useful.

Well the new layout lasted about 30 seconds for me, as long as it took to realise WTF was going on, log in and change back to the view where I can view everything. Never been a fan of the filtering unless I'm needing to bypass the search 'function', so to base the forum around this idea was never gonne ba popular here.

I like the look of the new layout but why on earth the forum needed breaking up into sections is a mytery I'm sure none of us wil ever solve.

lol @ all the kneejerk reactions :-)

Who says people fear change?! :-P

I'm gonna give the new layout a try for a few days - it looks quite useful. You can even browse by the "Gaming", "Non-Gaming" and "Eurogamer.net" categories.

I think in the long run it's gonna help make sure people categorise properly when they make new threads - lord knows I've fucked up plenty of times when making threads and just left them as "Gaming"... if n00bs actually categorise properly it can only help the readability of the forums, especially for when the PS3 launches in March and I want to filter out the shitstorm ;-)

Is it possible for you to change the category of your own threads yet?

In fact, could an EG person post a list of changes please?

That's a very good idea - I wanna see what new bells and whistles we have to play with :-)

A list of features would be great.

I think one thing that might get me using the new layout is if I could sort categories by new posts, so that all the active categories were at the top of the screen. It would just be easier to see where the activity is. I do realise that that is essentially what the old layout is doing anyway.

I still want to see "all the posts" - not just all the posts in gaming, or the news, etc - I mean *WHAT IF* I missed something....
