A fallout skinned Oblivion doesn't sound very apetising

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

Your not wrong there. I'll give Bethesda the benefit of the doubt till I've seen some actual solid info, but to be honest, technically competent as they are. They really have proved themselves to be quite unable of making anything with real wit, soul or character. F3 could be so, so amazing, but I just dont think Beth have the imagination to pull it off. If only they'd been able to coax back the original fallout guys to write and direct it.

    /sigh

Yup, exactly. I fear the chumps at Bethesda will just look at the first 2 games and say.. "Wha ? looks like 50's.. old fashioned.. people want something that looks 'modern', average Jo wont like 50's stylings.... more guns.. and no Miles Davis.. needs epic Soule action movie soundtrack.. needs more mutants. OK lets get to work guys !"

I reckon it'll be first-person and real-time as well. Which is why I still stand by my comment that Stalker will be the better Fallout 3, or at least a better interpretation of the Fallout universe. :)

Oh it will definatley be first person. With a crappy un-usable 3rd person option, ala Oblivion.

It'll also be too clean. Fallout needs over the top violence, whores and explicit language.

I was thinking of the intro, but I was wrong about who sung it, was Louis Armstrong. Although an upbeat jazz intro might have also been cool ;)

The fact that Miles Davis didn't sing at all might have been a clue. ;)

They'l definatley pussy out with the story and setting big style. There wont be any mention of America annexing Canada and government troops brutally masacaring people. Beth will I bet, change it to some kind of terrorist attack on America.

Oh, and they wont use the War, war never changes speech. Or they will, and wont use Ron Perlman.

Man.. i'm being really pessemistic about this aint I ;)

hehe, you would think wouldn't you. Its cause I was listening to some MD while I was brushing my teeth this morning so that must have been still in my brain :)

How well do the first two work under XP? I just got an urge to play them and ordered The ULTIMATE Fallout collection.
It was bloody cheap so I clicked buy before I really thought it through.

It looks as if I'll be getting my Fallout megapcak tomorrow. Yay. Haven't played any of them since release.

True story. I had no idea what a flffer was when I got asked if I wanted to become one in Fallout 2.

Heh - I googled "NMA", but accidentally wrote NHMA in the search field...

Anyhoo - I love Fallout 1+2 (Tactics was an atrocity), but I still find it rather amusing how the prospect of Bethesda dev'ing Fallout 3 can reduce a bunch of grown(ish...) men to a horde of whining, well, bitches.

    :)
