Chorizo, rocket, Cheddar cheese. Mmm. Or Double Gloucester and humous. Yum.

    Pie sandwich:

    One meat pie
    Two slices of buttered bread

    Cook pie.
Put on top of ONE slice of bread.
Put remaining slice of bread on top.

    Optional:
One leaf of rocket between pie and topmost slice of bread.

    Vegetarian version:
    Omit pie.

Pie sandwiches are delicious. If you are a fan of the piewich, might I suggest the flanwich - a large slice of quiche between two buttered slices of bread, or a barm, with plenty of white pepper.

    Deluxe version:
    More butter.

I imagine some basil leaves would go well with the chorizo.

Not sure about the double gloucester and humous, I can't imagine the texture would be particularly pleasant and the sandwich would be incredibly salty without some sweetness to balance, maybe from caremalised onion?

You really put a pie in a sandwich?

When I was a student me and my house mates perfected the art of basically putting a meal in a sandwich to minimise washing up. I used to know the perfect amount of water to put into supernoodles so that they would cook nicely, but wouldnt make the bread soggy.

I'm not northern, I just know that most things are better between two slices of bread.

Will have to try the flanwich.

I think I've posted it in here before, but the ultimate sandwich is a peanut butter, bacon and banana one. Closely followed by the piewich.

Is that a flan or a flange between two pieces of bread?

It's two flanges surrounding some flan.

Isn't that the Elvis special? Except he deep-fried the lot, IIRC.

    I'll have to try that.

I was going to try a banana and chocolate spread toastie earlier, but someones left the toastie maker in a right state. I was then thinking of frying/caramilising it with butter and sugar instead, but felt this would need some sort of ice cream or cream to go with it.

I've been eating a salad sandwich with mayonnaise spread, and a dollop of mayonnaise on the salad, everyday for the past week.

That's ok right? Or am I just nullifying all the healthy goodness of the salad cause of the mayonnaise..

Oh noes. Not another the world ends theory. No doubt predicted by some ancient civilization who were so brilliant that they are now utterly extinct.

What you've got wrong there is that mayonnaise isn't that bad for you, it's high in unsaturated fat and omega 3 and these things are essential, and salad isn't that good for you, it's nutritional value is very low.

You might as well fuck the leaves off and just spread that mayo good and thick on the bread and enjoy life for a change.
