    Cheers.

I think QI is the best of the bunch at the moment though.

    Great show, as usual.

"Women drives 2 miles before realising she had been the victim of a sexist joke"

Made me chuckle for quite a while.

actually it was "the little bastard got what he deserved said her majesty".

if you're going to be pedantic, get it right.

Anne Widecombe (sic?). They're giving her hell for being so fucking awful at it.

Makes an entertaining change though. Worst guest host ever was Neil Kinnock, to be fair...

Urgh, I've changed my mind though, this show is terrible.

Just watched the extended version. Really great show tonight, but she was terrible at presenting and the guys really carried her. Jimmy Carr was absolutely superb.

Would be nice if they went back to a regular presenter. I'm not sure how much longer we can have the "the presenter is really shit, let's make fun of them all show" dynamic. As great as this one was, nearly all the laughs were about Ann Widdecombe. I'd rather they stayed topical as much as possible.

Brilliant episode, also watched the extended version. Jimmy really was hilarious, as was Paul, as usual. Jimmy is great at doing this stuff, he's really hilarious, his stand up is a bit meh though, simply cause there's no flow to it. Loved it though. Had me in stitches.

Clive was great. They should get him on permanently.
  • Deleted user 30 November 2007 22:00:44
Clive's always great - but ner, keep it as a different guest every week.

PS. Will Self had a bit of a sunken-eyed 'death's head' vibe going on, I thought....

I doubt we'll ever see a fixed host for HIGNFY though. Clive Anderson is still a great host though.

I think clive would make a good host, he really should be made the permanant host. Anyone else notice how little he's changed since he did who's line is it anyway?

They should get a permanent host, and Clive Anderson would be a good choice.
  • Deleted user 1 December 2007 21:46:26
I dunno, I've never liked Clive Anderson on this. I think it's precisely because his presenting style still hasn't developed from WLIIA. He never really seems to be part of the same gag/script as everyone else - occasionally he keeps up but mostly he just laughs along nervously and keeps the script going.

There's been faaaaaar better hosts. The guy from Armstrong and Miller was great (I think it was him).

I actually kind of agree with that.

And Alexander Armstrong has guest presented more times that anyone else since Deayton left, so yeah, he is really good.

I could almost hear Richard Vranch making a hoe-down. And Tony Slattery searching for his career.

    Heh, according to Wiki -

On 23 November 2007, Ann Widdecombe appeared as a guest host for the second time, with Jimmy Carr as Hislop's teammate. However, due to Carr's risque material, Widdecombe vowed she would never appear on Have I Got News for You again. She said, "His idea of wit is a barrage of filth and the sort of humour most men grow out of in their teens. There's no amount of money for which I would go through those two recording hours again. At one stage I nearly walked out."
