where do you sign up to become one of these messageboard PR guys? how much does it pay?

It's not they pay that should worry you. It's what it costs - a cold, dank blackness at the very pit of your soul, the undisguised revulsion of forumites the world over and the knowledge that your life is petty and meaningless with nothing to look forward to other than posting more sad messages pretending to love a game which you'll never play and which you couldn't care less about anyway. As the years pass the initial fun of pretending to be a semi-literate 14 year old will wear off and start to eat away at your soul. And there you'll be... tapping away messages with all the joy and passion of an aging whore lying on her back wondering where the hell it all went wrong.

Five and a half quid an hour and the odd free t shirt from electronic arts doesn't really compensate does it?

Still, i don't reckon alexc is a plant. I reckon he's just an overexcited little boy. Bless.

Well, technically, if it is just as good or better than SS2 AND has coop included, it will beat the shit out of anything released on any platform for the next 3 or 4 years or so. If....

I wouldn't be too worried about specs. SS2 ran very well on low end PC's and your specs are oke.

Yeah, but that's because SS2 used Looking Glass's Dark engine, which was very scaleable. Given that Bioshock is being developed with next gen systems in mind, I'd be surprised if it didn't need a pretty good PC to run.

That said, ratso's PC spec isn't bad at all - similar to mine, in fact - and about the only thing he may really want to update is the RAM. Obviously a new graphics card would help, but I suspect, given his spec, that he's limited to an AGP slot like I am.

Given that Bioshock isn't likely to be released until well into next year, you may well find that getting a 360 then would be a good idea, rather than upgrading your PC. In fact by then there's going to be a bunch of second and third generation games available which really are going to make the 360 an even better system to own.

No infact....I rather think I'll buy the 360 version :)

You know this game is going to tank. It has all the hallmarks - inventive gameplay, wonderful creativity and a refusal to be generic and staid.

OPoodles of awards, the awe of all thinking and appreciative gamers and sales over the year which are half of the sales of FIFA 2007 in its 23rd week on release.

yeah, Levine always gives good copy

also laid to rest my fears about there only being three kinds of enemies in the game.

It's a pretty good interview. Slighted worried about the whole re-inventing the FPS lines but who knows maybe this time it might be true.

Yeah ditto, Sounds excellent, the Splicers potentially having any of the skills you have etc. Lots of potential variety there.

Just read the beginning of this thread and this forum can be a shining, happy welcoming place sometimes I see.

Anyway, I just downloaded and watched the trailer off live and it is amazingly good. Don't know what the hell this game is about but I'm interested.

Probably as good a place to start as any. Early build but it gets the general ambience and gameplay across nicely I think.

Cheers, I missed that demo. It looks interesting, but they can mention open ended/many options as much as they like. I only saw one outright enemy in it, although it looked beautiful. Potential.

My, that's scary, the "Enter Rapture" feature looks nice. It appears to be a true successor to SS2's frightening mood.
