Only just caught up. LOL at Diaz.

Anik: "can you talk us through the fight and those vicious combinations?"
Diaz: "Yeah, I won, huh huh"
Promptly cuts the interview short by saying "I got shit to do, I'm hungry"

    209, wut

Bigfoot's saying he's gonna submit Hunt -- I tend to agree!

Hate to say you may be right. Hunt is no stranger to knocking out bigger and taller guys and he's looked ok on his back of late.... but yeah :(
  • Deleted user 6 December 2013 16:43:47
Yeah, pulling for Hunt but if he gets taken down its curtains, Silva will advance to mount and have him bludgeoned and tapping by the first rounds closure, probably secure victory via arm triangle if Hunt somehow survives the neanderthalic thumping.

    But come on Mark Hunt!!!

Absolutely mental. Can't remember a more blood-soaked fight (other than Bigfoot vs Cain).

Draw means we'll see a rematch -- though if they are both still competing to become the number one contender at Heavyweight Cain doesn't have much to worry about. Five rounds and Cain doesn't break a sweat. He'll drag Hunt into deep water and drown him, or wrestlecrush Bigfoot again.

The most impressive performance of the night for me was Darth Bader. He's learned some patience, and smashed Perosh even though he wrecked his right hand. No wonder he threw so many elbows!

In other fight news, I managed to get a ticket to see Stallone give a lecture in London in January. Adriaaaaaan!

Incredible fight, couldn't help thinking it was a glimpse into the sort of 19th century multi round slugfests there used to be!
Sweet that Silva basically decided to give hunt a nice big hug at the end of round 4.
Can't help thinking he's got an unfair advantage with a head that big- he's probably got 3 foot of cerebral fluid all around his brain to cushion blows.

Hunt's hand apparently, after repeatedly smashing it against a wrecking ball this weekend.

Did anyone else record this and now can't watch the recording. Says recorded on my sky planner but when I try to watch I just get a blue screen.

If you like a bit of women's MMA, the excellent little Invicta promotion has posted the entire weekend's card online after- yet another- streaming fuck up:

    Invicta 7.

My little crush, Miriam Nakamoto, probably blew her ACL/MCL though- one of the finest strikers in women's MMA, but that possibly ends her seeing as she's in her late 30's :-(

So, the UFC announced a Strawweight division and promptly signed 11 of Invicta's best at that weight in one fell swoop. That has to be depressing if you're a small promotion, having supported/showcased and developed that talent, huh?

Joanne Calderwood and Tecia Torres are future UFC stars though...

Just watched that Invicta event and really enjoyed it, never really watched any womens mma, it was a lot better than what weve seen so far in any of the ufc fights.

Miss the days of three title fights on the same card tbh. It's ironic that when we did, around the Liddel/Hughes Arlovski era Dana white used rhetoric that this was why boxing was dying. Now boxing seems more exciting to me.

Tbh I'm too ignorant about the technical details to really understand and enjoy fights without a bit of the personality and back story that seems to have seeped away.

It's so professional and respectful now.

Still, I hope the Silva title fight will be good.

So GSP just said that he retires for now, but he might come back later.

Who should fight Hendricks for the belt? Condit/Hendricks rematch? Matt brown is out of the Condit fight.

Lawler vs Hendricks it is! Way better than a Condit rematch.

    march 15th.
