From hating him and his Republican shtick initially, he's easily one of the most engaging guys out there now. MMA will loose a tiny bit of shine when he retires.|
What sort of numbers do you reckon Machida v Munoz did in the states?
122,000 views. That is LOWER than the World Series Of Damn Fighting Burkman v Carl event recently, full of UFC rejects. And it's not just the overseas factor, apparently the Jones v Gustafsson event was very low too. Definitely some fatigue/ growing pains at the moment.

The Alvarez v Chandler fight from Bellator this weekend supposedly a total barn burner- haven't seen it, any good?

Have they started showing bellator on Viva over here yet?
They have. Was on over the weekend. Sadly missed it though waiting for it to be online.
Just watched Alvarez/Chandler 2 (via Mma-core.com) and I think that's genuinely the best MMA fight I've seen in years, if not ever.
People spoke of Gus/Jones and Diego/Melendez as being great fights, but for all the heart on display, I found them technically very poor.
This on the other hand had it all; great use of distance, timing, footwork, angles and head movement (all still rarely seen in top UFC Mma fights), mixed with great wrestling, back and forth fighting and equal amounts of heart.
Gus and Jimi to fight in London early next year. Big step up for Manuwa.
HUGE step up for Manuwa! Holy crap, that somehow puts him in the title picture if he manages the W.
Also a huge step down for Gus. Not sure what the point of the match is to be honest. Is it just to keep him busy for the inevitable rematch with Jones?

He was meant to fight Lil Nog (pointless to fight too) but he pulled out, so they obviously want to sell tickets and have decided to throw the lion into the sea with the sharks.
Thing is be has a good chance of knocking out Gus though.
I think the logic is that they want to keep Gus and DC away from each other so they don't cancel each other out as title contenders, and both have a chance to fight Jones.
Can really see Jimi winning by KO if he can get close enough to Gus.
I can't help thinking that's a step too far at this stage- there's a difference between really good and elite and he hasn't faced anyone truly elite yet?
Still, should be a good one to watch.
This pic is doing the rounds on some MMA sites today- a Maxim magazine ad from the UFC's early days.
A. Look at how hard Tito is clenching.
B. WTF Carlos Newton- is that an adult nappy?!
Newton packing heat.
Winners: Cruickshank, Rony Jason, Sicillia. Oh, and Vitor by headkick decapitation.

Jones doesn't want to fight Gus again and the UFC are putting him up against an opponent he's least prepared for stylistically.
Vitor with another head-kick. Outstanding. Gotta get me some of that TRT.
Is Hendo done now? Three losses in a row, no real hope of climbing the ladder again due to his age.
LaFlare is definitely a fighter to watch. Is he a Blackzillian?
Oh and if Weidman somehow beats Silva again, God help him in his next defence against Vitor. Especially if Vitor finds a way to stay juiced up to the eyeballs.
Hendo is out of contract with the UFC now, so I have no idea where he goes now.
I would be interested to see if they have Vitor fight in the USA next time and give him a real juice check, but I'll be honest, I have no real problem with cycled TRT, it's just one of those things.
I really want to like Feijao but he mostly looks terrible even when he wins.
It was a great card, which surprised me as I normally don't enjoy the Brazilian homerfest cards too much.
I really hope Hendo hangs up the H-Bombs now, amazing fighter with absolutely nothing left to prove.
As you've all said, it'd sure be interesting to see Belfort in the U.S. next, huh?
I'd put my left bollock on it being a slightly smaller, slightly more pudgy Belfort that's for sure. He could certainly snatch the belt with the trademark fire, but it'd be awful for the sport, in my opinion, to have such a high profile drugs cheat at the apex.
Was it just me or was every single punch that Feijao landed in his finishing flurry grossly illegal?
They can avoid the steroids and TRT issue with Vitor in two ways, I reckon.
If Weidman wins against Silva, they'll do a Vitor fight in NJ, where the commission won't be so harsh on him compared to Vegas & Kizer.
If Silva wins against Weidman they'll do the fight with Vitor in Brazil. It's be a massive fight and makes sense from a business perspective to do it there.
But yeah, having such a high profile guy pumping himself up all the way to a title shot is a bit of a shame.
Hendo may renew with the UFC, but they won't pay 250k for a fight any more. I can't believe his contract was that good. He made 750k for losing his last three fights. Absolute madness. I smell a new Bellator signee...
The way Hendo advanced in the lead up to the uppercut looked laughably amateurish in the reply, it was real barroom brawl levels of ineptitude.
This Ben Fowlkes article sums up, much more succinctly than I could, why TRT, for me, should have no place in MMA. If your testosterone is low, whether that's because you've damaged your body through past steroid abuse like Belfort, or not- then it's time to retire if you can't still compete. Just as to time to retire if you damage an eye permanently, or can't rehab your knees back to health. That's sports. Bodies don't last forever.
GSP is complettly obsess:
Lol, too focused to even have time for colour.
Got a horrible feeling about this weekend -- I think GSP might lose

@craigy glad I'm not the only one.
I can actually see Tristar losing both of their fights (though I hope they won't!) -- MacDonald could easily get clipped if he gets cocky.
Good card this weekend. I'm really looking forward to it.
Yup, loads of big names. Can't believe Cerrone's been demoted to the undercard though!
