I wonder why Manuwa has GBR and the union jack on his shoulder, every other British fighter I've ever seen has ENG and the George cross.

    "Apologies for any colourful language!"

I bet they say that a lot :)

I'm not sure why he apologises; it's not on terrestial tv, is it? If people are paying for online content, they should just warn people it might contain strong language from the start and be done with it.

I'd like to know which cross section of people are tuning in to watch people knock seven shades out of each other but are also offended by colourful language.

Why not? It would be a relatively easy fight for Haye. Manuwa started training mma when he was like 27. He's all power.

edit: he did say a boxing match, right?

Yeah, he said boxing match. Not sure Haye's ankle will do well in MMA. Or Boxing, for that matter.

See what Conor and the UFC has caused?

Ridiculous. He has no business whatsoever. Looks even more foolish considering Haye's potentially career-ending injury and the fact Manuwa is a relative nobody to the masses. He's no f*cking McGregor.

Shoot he's lost his fights to any decent UFC fighter, and now wants Haye? Might as well go all out and call out AJ.

Yeah, Dana was right when he basically said "if you're not Conor, stop asking for superfights". Everybody at the moment sees what Conor is up to and thinks they can do the same thing, except they're not him. Conor is huge at the moment, he could sell a fight against literally anyone, people want to see him fight, they want to see him talk, everything. And then you have people like Cody Garbrandt and Tyron Woodley asking for a superfight and Jimi Manuwa asking for David Haye. They have no star power (yet), it just doesn't work. You can't have a superfight if nobody cares.

The most irritating thing is Nate Diaz bleating on about not being promoted as well as McGregor. What on earth  does he expect.

Diaz can't even be trusted to attend a pre-fight event held by the UFC.

Enjoyed that. Diakiese has shades of MVP about him, but let's see a bit more before all the "I'm the best!" business.
Beautiful head drag by Gunni, lovely neat sequence. He looked chuffed to bits immediately after too.
Manuwa I don't buy into much. He's like a throw back. Yes, bags of power, but any reasonable ground specialist is going to maul him, and that definitely includes either of the two he just called out.

@BigOrkWaaagh first rule of Dana White is. Dont listen to Dana as he is a cunt.

Sooner he fucks off from the ufc the better although it just feels like a money making machine nowadays rather than putting on the best (and fairest) fights. I would imagine the top 5 ufc fighters earn more than the bottom 75% combined.

Manuwa was born in Nigeria and raised in the UK so I presume he gets to pick the design. I like the GBR design though

I foresee plenty of wage overhauls over the next 3-5 years within the UFC. As the pressure mounts from other organisations and the media on the small slice the fighters earn it will eventually come to a point where the UFC have to change the way they pay fighters. Or just increase the show/win bonuses.

I say overhaul because what usually happens is that they try and confuse the subject by changing HOW they pay fighters instead of actually increasing fighter pay.

Who cares about Manuwa vs Haye? Nobody that's who. If Manuwa can get the title, big IF, then maybe start throwing your weight around but Haye is old and tired and not very relevant anymore. Why bother?

    Agreed on this.
Bags of power and not much else. Limited technically, little gas tank and no real ground game.

Plus he's also a bit of a cunt. Still has a hood rat mentality and hangs around with hood rats who start riots if one of their boys lose.

Recent shot of him possibly getting a title shot. Utterly odd considering he keeps losing against the fighters above him.

Also I doubt the UFC would ever give a shot to a guy who literally can't fight in the US due to his criminal record.

@The-Bodybuilder Wait, Manuwa can't fight in the US? I know he was arrested about 15 years ago for Conspiracy to Burgle or something ridiculous but I didn't think that would keep him out of The States.

Manuwa only has two losses on his record. Rumble and Gustafson are not exactly pushovers, lets be honest. If he can get a rematch with either of them or a fight with Bones while DC recovers from his inevitable injury during training then why not? He probably won't win but he deserves the chance at a decent purse against a skilled guy.

Agreed on Manuwa title shot/eliminator. It sounds crazy and he will definitely lose, but the division is so thin, who else is there? At least it's another name in the mix. Also, he, DC, Glover and maybe even Shogun can't be that far away from retirement. LHW is only going to get bleaker.

Yeah, I'm confused about the 'Manuwa keeps losing to everybody above him' shouts as well. 2 defeats to quality opposition. 2 defeats in a sport were literally nobody goes unbeaten. And he has fought in the states before so can't be too much of an issue going forward

The UFC do a terrible job of promoting young talent in all divisions. El Pantera is an incredibly gifted athlete with KO power at a division where is isn't so common to KTFO everyone you come into contact with. Where's his promotion? He could very well be the FW champ within the next 3 years but he doesn't really get any plugs. FW is all about MacGregor (somehow), Aldo and Holloway. That's it. Top 3 get media attention, everyone else gets left in the corner like naughty school children until they prove themselves by breaking into that top 3/5
