    Hi,

Just been asked this by a colleague and ashamed to say I don't know. Anyone have any idea what is the best selling individual game and franchise across all formats. Lets stick to UK sales for simplicities sake.

I think you'll find it easier to find worldwide figures.

The Sims is a usual suspect, as is Super Mario Bros, IIRC. There are few others that are usually mentioned as well.

Fastest 1st day sales is (IIRC) Halo 2.

Overall, it's gotta be Mario on the (s)nes right?

Wikipedia has an article on the "best" sellers etc but as reliable sales figures are a bit difficult to come by, a best guess is as close as it gets i think.

First Google result (disputed neutrality but a start at least).

Please note the bundled vs. standalone split.

SMB is first, Tetris second, but if you don't count pack-in games, it's SMB3 with around 18-19mil

It's a wiki, you can submit WoW and link to some sales figures if you have some. It's been a phenomenal success so i don't think anyone will dispute it.

Maybe I should. Sales where six million plus last time I heard som official numbers.

The game is still the best selling game, regardless of platform, here in Sweden.

Thanks for all the replies, will pass on.

Was sure I'd be referred to a world of previous threads. Surely someone must have asked this before.

For anyone who cant be bothered to check the link, its Vice City btw. 6,597,000 (could be San Andreas by now though, the figures are a little old.)

2 and 3 were the other 2 GTA's though so it doesnt make much difference.

Good thread, but it's for American sales in the 21st century. Still, interesting.
