    OLD!

I know I know, but I did a thread search and couldn't find anything.

This has always been one of those shows that I'd never really sat down and WATCHED...properly. That's probably down to the fact that I'm too much of a pauper to afford whatever Sky channel that it's shown on over here, and that the odd terrestrial TV episode is usually stuck on at very unsociable hours (well...early morning is my gaming time!).

I've recently been selling off my entire DVD collection on Amazon marketplace, and now I've just pumped all that cash straight back into the first five seasons of this show.

Beavis and Butthead, Office Space and King of the Hill. Mike Judge is a GAWD!

Dare I say that it's THE best animated show of all time?

/waits for the retaliation from Futurama, Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, South Park and He-Man fans

Yup, King of the Hill is pretty damn good, not as good as the Simpsons golden years, but close. I'm actually from Texas and it definitely nails that Texas-feel.

Cool. I thought our only American EG-ers were Bunda, Toonster and BGIE.

KOTH actually makes me WANT to visit Texas. My Dad has been quite a few times, so at least I know what to buy him for Christmas (well, it was either the DVDs or a gun!). :p

It's pretty decent. I never found it to be that funny, but it's always entertaining. It's stupidly popular here in America, it's always on TV.

Certainly it's not better than Futurama, but it's a cracking show.
I only have the first 2 series on DVD at the mo, but it's a good watch.

    Yup.

King of the Hill is indeed, absolutley fantastic. Its one of those shows that never seemed to take off, despite the writing being vastly superior to 99% of the rest of the animated comedy shows on tv. The thing is its a very subtle humour most of the time, so unless you really sit down and watch it, and become familiar with the characters it tends to be somewhat lost on people.

I become Hank every time we have a barbecue. It's physically impossible to say 'propane, and propane accessories' in any other accent than deep Texan drawl.

cause it was slow and witty and had very few prat falls, the early episodes of the simpsons were far more visually funny which got people watching and then the humour matured, king of the hill assumed people would watch a more serious show, still its done well, you dont get 5 seasons out of fox if the show isnt being viewed

A little more unabashed pimping for this excellent show.

I've just watched the whole of Series 6, and the dang thing just gets better and better.

EVERYTHING about this show gives it permission to pee from a great height on every other sitcom (animated OR live action)

Any news on when we can expect the Series 7 box-set?

Massive, massive fan of KOTH. I have the first 6 seasons/series (big up yourself the UK!) on dvd. I wish Fox would just release them all on reg 2. Dale and Bill are brilliant. One of the greatest songwriters/rock stars of all time is in the show..............Mr Tom "Lucky" Petty.

"Duffman is thrusting in the direction of the problem! Oh, yeah!"

Holy hell - are Fox EVER going to release anything other than seasons 1 to 6?!

Have you seen the absolute trash that DOES get released nowadays - and yet we seem to have waited for years for series 7!

It popped up on Amazon.com a few weeks ago, sparking rumours that it was finally on its way...alas, my high hopes have now been shot down.

Erm...anyone know of any places that allow you to stream episodes from Season 7 onwards? You've forced me to take the 'naughty' route, Mr Fox. :)

There have been some pay disputes within the actors/writers that has resulted in Season 7 being soooooo delayed, which is annoying as fuck.

Anyone else consider Bill to be one of the greatest cartoon characters ever? I adore absolutely every moment he is on screen.

I've always liked Malcolm in the Middle. Most stuff on Fox is poop, with MITM, KOTH, and Simpsons being the only decent shows. Any station that allows American Idol to be broadcast should be shot!

Was nothing special to be honest.

That said it's better than the Simpsons, the mediocre American Dad and the on the whole terrible Family Guy.

... Or the currently running Fox ones.

There are others I could have mentioned, but I like them and they're not on Fox. I.e. South Park which is still going strong.

    If you say so.

Please don't tell me that on the other hand, you still rate the likes of Family Guy?
