Some thieving little cnut has used my debit card details - no doubt obtained whilst i signed onto a well known poker sight.

Using these details they managed to spend 850!!!!!!!!!

An Investigation is pending and I should get it back, but why dont these thieving bastards just get a job for f**k's sake.

I've done a clean-up using AVG, Ad-aware, and Spybot - but there is still some shit on my PC that wont go away.

    Oooooooooooooo IM MAD!!!!!

debit or credit card? As they seem to be restricting the fraud limits on debit cards - so avoid using one online.

Try running Ewido across your machine megastar, then don't go online without "Protection" again.
Gutted to hear that, did they buy anything good?

I got a bit worried the other day.

I'd suffered multiple instances of credit card fraud over the past few months, but I use a Mac and couldn't find any spyware or other possible ways in which I could have had my details stolen.

Then the other day, whilst on Xbox Live Arcade, I went to buy Street Fighter... my credit card deets were stored on the system, and it only took about three presses of A to confirm my purchase.

My account isn't password protected all too well, surely this is much more secure than it seems?!

    /needs reassuring

Bastids. Read a report the other day of someone using PartyPoker and had placed in a large tourney - netting him summat in excess of $10k. When he logged back on to withdraw the funds, someone had hacked in and raided his account! Poor fecker.

Hope it all works out for you mate....

Ewido is a malware/virus/trojan remover that i have used to successfully clean a whole bunch of machines that other Virus-scanners etc wouldn't touch. There's a trial version you can use to clean your PC and then see if you want to keep it.
It's sorted out some right nasty little tykes and impressed a couple of the users i've recommended it to.

You can only buy MS points with it, you can't view the CC details stored and besides unless they'd used your console it would require them putting in a postcode, telephone number and the last 4 digits of your CC to register you on a new box.

Which is why my spare live account isn't in use because I can't remember the phone number :(

    !

I know r_c's explained why this isn't necessarily a problem but even so, you really should use a decent password for any online account where your card details are stored!

    would it make much difference?

besides, their call centre is in the middle of god knows where. Everytime you phone them - you get somebody who speaks little or no english. Its very frustrating.

I checked my credit card statement this morning, and some thieving arsehole has gotten hold of my details somehow and is using it to buy
Tesco Mobile Vouchers and Scrap Metal from a Junkers yard.

(I think the scrap metal thing is just a way to get cash somehow)

    Anyway... Fuckers.

Don't know when it happened, I bought Dark Messiah from steam the day before it all started happening, but I would have thought that would be secure. Otherwise it could be some Ned in a petrol station looking through credit card receipts or something.

I hate theives, they are Scum, yet they seem to avoid the death penalty.

Grrrrrrr some Moroccan swine is using my debit card. Now I am going to be extra paranoid. No cards at bars/restaurants/stores! Bank machines actually inside the bank. Cash all the way on my nights out from now on.

The amount of people I know that this has happened to is ridiculous.
