The first couple of books are £7.25 in Amazon. I know, not much off £8, but maybe enough to tip you over the edge :)

Meh. £8 will get you the whole GN of book 1, way better value than some manky old Batman rag ;-)

I appreciate your dedication, but really, it's worth expanding your horizens a little. How do you know Batman is your favourite if that's all you'll read? Just get one Preacher GN, go on, you'll seriously love it. It's a total joy. It beats the pants of that bloody Nightfall rubbish you're so obsessed with (oh bollocks, I went there, oh well, it's out there not ;-) )

That collection will be wurf summinck one day, mate. All the originals plus all the original side-strories/spin-offs. Some signed.

As I said. I'll look at for it on Ebay.

Pffft, don't pull that "It'll be worth something" line with me sunshine, remember who you're talking to. It's only worth something if you have the intention to sell it...

Save those lines for the Mrs! :D

    That should be "manga-es*que* shit".

And I'm not even going to bother showing you the range of art styles used in Japanese comics, I just get the feeling it wouldn't do any good.

That's right, it won't :p I've solidified my stance through reading many many manga comics, it's not a product of misbegotten ignorance. :D

FAO SPANKY - And anyone else who was vaguely interested in reading 52 but don't want to buy it.

You can read it here legally for free. 1-4 is up at the mo, and they are going to all go up eventually. Don't lfick around the rest of the site though as there are some major spoilers about.

Only 5 issues are going up - there's no mention of all 52.

I bought Kabuki - Circle of Blood (book 1) last week and read it yesterday. Very, very good! It's a cross between 'V for Vendetta' and 'Aeon Flux'. Very well designed and constructed (although most of it would have been lost on me had it not been for the bit in the back of the book that explains it all :D). I'm going to get the 2nd book this week...

Is thon Kabuki a reprint of the first issues or is it a 'arc' thingy? Rubes is interested in it but it's a bit late imo to be picking it up in vanilla format.

I've just read Ultimate Galactus book 1 and 3(the end). Missed out 2, couldn't find it. Very good, book one is a bit slow mind and unnecessary pretty much, book 3 is an excellent take on the old Galactus/Silver Surfer origin stuff.

    Book 1
    Art - 7/10
    Writing - 4/10
    'Reading Time' - 15 mins
    Value - 4/10

    Book 3
    Art - 8/10
    Writing - 6/10
    'Reading' Time - 25 mins
    Value - 6/10

Just started reading this. Fun so far.

Got 100 Bullets book 1 sitting on my desk.

    That looks great!

Woo for 100 Bullets, although it needs to end now...

I've got all the back issues of DMZ coming through having read my mates number 1 and thinking it was ace, and all the Battle Popes too. Woo.

Looking forward to Superman Confidential starting too, Loeb and Sale rock, although obviously the manganess will not appeal to 'some'...

Tim Sale, i always though he drew superman more in a Fleischer sort of way. Nearly picked up a Supes GN he'd worked on yesterday in fact. Didn't though ;)
