Detective has been shit for a while by the way, but I'm pretty sure they're getting a new creative team soon that should shake things up for a bit.

    Get bent.

Ahh, like that. Yeah, one of the few things they've done right. Even if everything around them is torn asunder every few months by Marvel. The core team(s) seem to remain the same.

Which arc is that? The watery weeping woman one? The art is fucking amazing throughout, those two page spreads are brilliant.

    Get bent.

It's her first arc from the Detective Comics run, with the origin story bits and pieces.

I picked up Hydrology as well (the New 52 run) and the art across both books is amazing. Easily some of the best page layouts I've ever seen. I usually avoid the Bat family books but this one lives up to the hype.

Do I sell my signed, numbered and certificated Vengeance of Bane comic for 200 on Ebay?

If you have something useful you can do with the 200, sure.

Just think, selling that one comic could let you subscribe to the new releases for a long while.

Bane suffered from the same thing Doomsday did. They both managed to do do what every Superman/Batman enemy has been wanting to do in their first storylines.

Then they became jokes. Sell the comic and enjoy the money. :)

I dunno. Bane went on to become pretty important as a villain (see Contagion). He's been underused in recent years though.

    Any 2000AD fans/experts, here?

I like to help out my local Oxfam with online sales etc - the shop had an awesome donation of a complete run of 2000AD comics the other day - issue 1 through to the early 90s.

We're obviously going to eBay the very early issues, but I was wondering if there are any other particularly collectable/desirable issues or arcs that I should dig out for separate auctions.

    @caligari

Issue 2 (first Judge Dredd) will be worth a small fortune, assuming it is in VG+/NM condition.

    Issue 30 - 1st Rico.

Issue 119 - first ABC Warriors

    Issue 149 - 1st Judge Death.

    Issue 150 - 1st Judge Anderson.

    Issue 228 - 1st Rogue Trooper

    Issue 330 - 1st Slaine

Those are the main ones that come to mind (I'd say 1st Sinister Dexter, but IIRC that was in the mid-90s, so probably pretty common and relatively low-value by now).

Also, any issues by people like Grant Morrison, Warren Ellis, etc will be worth holding on to, to see if you can get them signed at conventions - that will significantly add to their value.

@darkmorgado - Thanks, DM - much appreciated. I'll have a search through when I'm next in - as long as they haven't already sold the lot to a dealer for a couple of pounds.

The Kevin Smith 'Fatman on Batman' podcast is well worth a listen, if you haven't already. I'd start at Ep 1 where he interviews Paul Dini. Then in 2 & 3 it's Mark Hammill. There's a Bruce Timm episode and a Walter Flanaghan one (which is awesome).

You have to suffer him trying to sell you stuff for a few mins at the start then it's about 1-1.5 hours worth of Batman chat.

    Good shit.

Anyone have any tips on selling rare comics? My girlfriends dad wants to sell his green lantern comics (issue 1 to 60 odd) and apparently as I'm a bit geeky I'm the resident expert...

Any rough idea of how much they are worth? How can I assess what condition they are in? Is there a standard guide on what counts as pristine, for example?

Don't really want to sell on eBay so off to a show on Saturday.

Kevin Smith needs to be kept away from comics. He can't write them for shit.
