Wow, Valve mentioned it by word themselves and even gave a release date. Expect DNF by next year!

As surprised as I was of seeing any news about it, I was even more surprised when they detailed what it would looke like:

a "much more cartoony look to the whole thing; think bright colours, new lighting effects and a visual style that's not a dissimilar from that of hit Disney movie The Incredibles"

Certainly a style break from most FPS games, maybe for the better? What remains to see is if they managed to do some innovative with the gameplay. According to Steam News, they are releasing movies for TF2 and Portal next week.

Am I the only one that remembers the cartoony, primary colour-soaked graphics of TFC?

This style suits Team Fortress perfectly for me. As long as the game dynamics are still as addictive and fun as they were 8 (?) years ago, I'll be happy to invest in this.

I like the looks of it actually, looks more interesting than all the other class-based shooters these days. Also, check out the background on that picture ... toy soldiers?

It still had the HL colours going, and this seems to crank it up a notch.

For whoever asked in the comments, from what I understood the console versions of HL2: Episode 2 will contain all things Half-Life 2, including CS: Source, Team Fortress 2, and Portal. Will amend that info if anything changes.

    Oh. My. God.

not yet. depends on how well the wii does probably, and all those things. same as the gc port considerations. wii can pull the source engine around no problem of course

Really? Xbox had a watered-down HL2 port, and since the Wii isn't much stronger, it wouldn't be a 'proper' Episode 2 package that it got, if at all.

Watching that video really makes me want to play again!

Would anyone be up for re-installing TFC and giving it a bash with me sometime this week?

...you know, for old times' sake?

Bollocks, I'll have to install Steam again. I deleted it since I never used it...

What a pain in the arse it was reinstalling it last time. :(
