    "They should have really just made a new series of single unrelated episodes, rather than 4 films."

    That was what they wanted to do, but yet again, Fox had to be awkward and insist on them making a DVD movie instead.

    At least they had the balls to say "Well if your letting us make one, how about letting us make four?".

    I haven't been able to watch the movies in one go. Futurama is fantastic in the usual episodic bursts, but I found myself getting tired of it after 35 minutes or so.

    Will watch this tonight, I'm sure I'll love it.

    I'll buy all the films when they come out on Blu-ray, until then downloads will do.

    Well, that was fantastic. :D The story was bizarre, even for Futurama, but they have such a rich cast of characters it all pulls together well. It was great to see some returning characters such as Harold Zoid (apparently voiced by Maurice LaMarche this time, instead of Hank Azaria) and 1-X Robot.

    The film was worth it for this one scene- with Bender's first born son. Genius.

    Just seen it myself, superb stuff, a lot better than BBS, which I thought was pretty good anyway!

    The humour is definitely more 'classic Futurama'.

    Bit disappointed there wasn't a tie in to the next movie though... seeing as they are all meant to be one big story arc.

    Just watched the first hour of it. Enjoyed it more than the first one. Classic futurama.

    I wasn't so keen. It didn't have the solid plots of the series and felt more like a bunch of scenes than anything else. Plus it had about 3% emotional impact, despite trying.

    Saying that I still enjoyed it.

    I like it but I think Bender's Big Score was better, but that might change with repeated watching.

    It did skip around a lot. Which I why I said earlier that it may be better in episode-format.

    Yeah, maybe. Though isn't that just going to be a serialisation of the film? Considering how all the strands come together in the end I don't see how they'd make seperate episodes of each 'story'.

    Well, they managed it in the Family Guy movie. I remember when I first watched that, I had no idea how they'd ever cut it up.

    Well the editor in me will be looking forward to it if they're going to do it that way then. Should be interesting even if it doesn't improve it (which it full well might).

    Ok I just watched Benders big score and it has to be the worst pile of shit ever made into animation. What the fucking fuck is this shit? I love Futurama and this film only serves to make me extremely grateful that they cancelled it. What a painful piece of viewing.

    You may want to skip The Beast with a Billion Backs in that case.

    I've watched both movies now, and I really wasn't impressed with either. Whether it's the format or the material I'm not sure (although I'd lean heavily towards the latter in The Beast with a Billion Backs at least), but the magic just wasn't there for me. They just seemed to be more Futurama for the sake of it, rather than that they really felt the need to finish something after it was cut short before.

    Watched Beast with a Billion Backs with the commentary on last night and it improves no end! The new epics may be weak in concept but the commentaries and DVD extras more than make up for that. Bender's Game looks like it could be quite amusing too for those D&D fans out there :o)

    Just watched the episodes of Benders Big Score again (on TV, this time!), and notice that the ending of it leads directly in to Beast With a Billion Backs! Pretty nice touch. :)

    Also. when is this coming to Blu ray? I've held off buying both movies so that I can get the Blu Rays instead, and they're just not appearing.

    I really hope they do a proper new season. DVD sales of BWABB were way way down from Bender's Big Score (it sold about 1/8th of the amount BBS did), and most people put this down to ultimately being disappointed with that movie. Since BWABB is considered to be worse than BBS, it doesn't bode well. I think the problem is that Futurama doesn't lend itself well to a feature length. The show is very character based, and when done as a movie, that focus then shifts to an overarching story, and becomes more about that than about the characters. That said, I still thoroughly enjoyed both movies, and can't wait for the next.

    I'm confused... there's futurama movies? I shame myself a little I think - I own all the series episodes on DVD but I had no idea whatsoever that there were movies. :(

    If you like Futurama then you'll want to see more of it. The films just have too much expectation on them.

    The film's do what they need to and there are some great moments in them. They don't quite reach the heights of the original episodes but there still great if your a fan of the show.

    Now it's been a couple of months, I think I prefer BBS just a little bit more. I saw BBS on Cartoon Network when I was in the US, and it's better as episodes than as a movie, I reckon.
