Whats the one with the cartoon phone that's clearly a rip off of the other one with a phone?

    That's crap too.

    Lombard Direct.

    Yep, they're gits too...

One for the North Westerners only (probably)

    "Carcraft at rochdale!
Teh hottest deals on the meanest wheels!"

Are you so stupid that the only job you can get is stacking shelves? Then why not pay Computeach feckloads of money and take their fancy learn-by-mail courses for a few days. Then you'll be clever enough to get a real job as an IT professional, earning over 40,000 with a company car!

    Yeah, sure, course you will.

Hehe, and I'm sure poor Ronan Keating didn't expect his music to be used for such a purpose, either :)

I still remember their phone number from when it had meaning.

"Get a loan from 800 to 15000, ring 0800 215000". Lost its appeal when they changed the loan amounts so they didn't have as cool a phone number.

I was quite surprised to see a Which report that mentioned the only 2 credit cards that charge nothing whatsoever on foreign currency transactions are Nationwide and Lombard Direct. Eh?

S'alright Harry, it just gets a mention on every page now, clearly denoting that it is, indeed, the most annoying advert ever.

I think its when he starts doing that bizzare arm-waving and pointing thing near the end that it really makes my brain stroke out.

    That is indeed genius.

Who needs the American 1-800 CRAPCARS type numbers when you can have genius like that?

    Great thread, LOL :)

Personally, I hate all of them, but especially...

any that end in Hmmmmmm.....Danone. FUCK OFFFFFF!!!!!!

any that and in L'Oreal... Because you're worth it. FUCK OFFFF!!!!

In fact, all Cosmetics ads. Maybe it natural, maybe its Maybelline. maybe, I'll fuck off upstairs and lurk on the EG forum.

Mazda Adverts - Zoom fucking Zoom.

Any adverts where they 'sponsor' the program, so you have to see the ad 18 times in one fucking night.

Regional ad for shitty regional atttractions - one for those of us in the North West - "Come to Botany Bay for a day out with all the family" - NO ITS FUCKING SHIT.

As you can probably tell, I could go on.

    But I won't.

LOL ! Always laugh about that advert but never realised how stupid you would have to be to forget how much you want.

Man - 'You can have a really sensible conversation with those guys at Picture'

    Woman - 'What !? About Football ?!"

+1 - mostly because it somehow brings back horrifying memories of that horrible tramp dog in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"*

Any loans ad, due to their very very very specific choice of characters.

And yes, that picture loans ad in particular. Woah, he's such a lad's lad!

anyway - why walk around gathering video evidence of the fact your husband is going to have to pay back an additional 19k ontop of his 25k loan ! Maybe she is going to wait until he has signed the paperwork, got past the cooling-off period then leave him for somebody else ! She can then send he copies of the video whilst shouting 'UUGGHH!! How stupid are you !!'

It's also the way they trivialise the whole thing, portraying the guy doing it as a little job he has to do before he carries on with the important things in his day. Taking out a 25,000 loan with anyone is a monumental decision, particularly if you have to get one from a company that charges 30% APR and then send Bermondsey Dave round for your kneecaps if you're a millisecond late with a repayment. To present it in such an irreverant manner displays breath taking disregard for your fellow man.

You've set me off again. Nurse! My pills!

I think it's about time I singled out "The Charmin Ultra" bears...

The whole thing is unsavoury from start to finish. Using "cute" cartoon bears to promote wiping your big furry arse on soft toilet tissue is wrong.

I'm annoyed by the cartoon domino pizza ads that buffer The Simpsons on Sky One. In particular the female character.

"I don't understand why they make them so fresh?"

Plus she thinks the bloke is having an affair, rings the last number he dialed, and finds it's Domino pizza, therefore is instantly relieved. Personally I think he's having his way with the woman working there who answers the phone.

    Thickest cartoon character EVER.

Is "rank stupidity" an accepted reason for divorce? If so it could come in handy!

That other loan advert makes me wonder. Another one with generic football shirts, "hey, I'm a blokey, blokey bloke, but I like to spend money I don't have with little to no regard for my family's future fiscal stability. What I need is a shit load of cash straight away, and hang the repercusions."

    /goes outside

"Mate, what you need is this loan."

"Er...Dave? How the hell did you hear what I was saying in my house?"
