Registered 7 years agoLoved KoTOR, thought Jade Empire was a bit easy (although still good fun).
Having been initially disappointed with no announcement of a KoTOR for the 360, this looks like it may end up being my reason to get one. -

Registered 8 years agoSo this is still down for release this year? It seems to be listed as 2006 everywhere I look so I hope it still is. This is definitley top of my list for most anticipate 360 game at the moment. -

Registered 7 years agoYou know what I want.
A space exploration game where you go from space down through the planet's atmosphere and can land where you want on the planet, all with no loading screens.
Has this ever been done in a game?

My word, that's one of the most badly written articles I've read in a while. Where on earth do IGN get their writers?

Still, nice new info. It's made me a little more interested than I was before, but I'm not a big fan of Bioware so I'm not getting excited just yet.
I only wish I could be sure these fantastic visuals belonged to a game I'm going to enjoy, but if it's anything like KOTOR I just can't get enthusiastic about it. -

Registered 8 years agoI'm a bit worried the combat bits are going to be overly-simplistic. If you compare the footage from the E3 walkthrough thingy with, let's say, Gears Of War, it looks a bit.. simple. Hope it doesn't ruin the game.

Registered 8 years agoBioWare are working on a PC game currently too, they've just been very quiet about it for the last year or so -

Registered 11 years agoWell, as long as it's Mass Effect for the PC....gif)
However, I'd also be happy if it turned out to be KotOR 3. Then again, I'd love to see Obsidian doing the final part.

Looks great! Character animation is superb.

I thought this was supposed to be an RPG, not Gears of War again!

Liked the music, though. -
It's a kinda action RPG like KoTOR. That trailer definately places a lot of onus on the action element.
Bear in mind it was made for MTV. -
I've got to admit, I lost most of my interest in this game as soon as they started banging on about 'real-time squad-based combat', but I did hold out a little hope that they were just fibbing to trick meatheads into buying it. Seems they weren't.
-
But it's made by Bioware so you know it'll be good
-
Like I said before, I would have loved it to have a tactical, turn-based combat mode, but of course that's not going to happen. But a proper action battle system is in any case better than the fully-automated half-arsed Kotor approach.
Game looks good though, and it looks like there's some exploration to be done. If there's one thing in Kotor I hated even more than the battle system, it was the tiny corridor maps.

I haven't played a Bioware game since the original System Shock. ^_^
And I dare you to tell my pal here in the office that Bioware games are guaranteed to be good, as he's liable to beat you to death with a limited edition Jade Empire box.

I dunno Blerk, turn based combat in RPG is all well and good, but it's getting a bit old, just like random battles.
It's about time someone tries something different, and from what I gather it's a mix of real-time action, stats, and strategy. It looks like you can pause the action at any moment and move the members of your party, select specific actions, etc. -

Blerk, I think this follows pretty much in the vein of Jade Empire. Real time combat with stats and a fairly traditional Bioware structure regarding the story.
I like what I see so far. I don't want console RPGs to feel as if they are awkwardly translated PC-games, like Morrowind did. -

It doesn't necessarily have to be turn-based, it'd just be nice if it wasn't a straight out space-marine third-person shooter. Again.
