Registered 8 years agoIn VLC go to settings / preferences and in the Audio tab, click the Advanced options box in the bottom right, At the bottom of all the options that appear is an Audio desynchronisation compensation field. Set that to -130 and bobs your uncle. -

Registered 8 years agoTa, although my PC couldn't handle the high def version of the video
It worked fine in Windows Media Player though, although it didn't have to work out the sound delay in that version I suppose. -

You control the actions of the player character yeah (probably) but that doesnt mean you cant get an emotional response from him/her at the situations you find yourself in. And obviously the npc's you interact with can also behave in ways that provoke an emotional response from the player.

Registered 11 years agoWell.. no. This was a specifically designed demo for Virtual Actor. But what TC is proposing is nothing not done already, again hardly next gen.

Registered 8 years agoJust watched it again, I'm becoming obsessed!
Still cant get the lip synch quite riught, have it at -130
Still blows me away. Where as with out games you can cleary see a "slider" being moved as regards emotions, a sudden grimace or scowl, in this its all so fluid and lifelike.
Just thinking of the rubbish acting of Silent Hill (the game, although movie wasn't much better
) and Final Fantasy X, with this kinda of atrwntion to detail we could finally be getting to a stage where games are can challenge movies in terms of delivering an emotional experience. -

"I finally get what next gen is going to offer. Character emotions and acting on par with what a blockbuster film with real actors offers."
to which you replied...

"Not really, Ultimately, the player controls the character."
I presumed you were saying that because you control the character, as oposed to a movie where you dont, you wont get the same kind of acting and emotional involvment. To which I responded

Then you started talking about Fable, i'm not sure what that had to do with new technology allowing you to become more emotionally involved with a character. -
