Not even any new screenshots though. I'd kill for vid of the demo they're showing at E3.

Very promising indeed. And considering the usage of different ammo types, security cams and guns, nanite- sorry, *Adam* it's a true spiritual successor to the System Shock games.

That hacking though...I remember reading somewhere the game's supposed to be set in an alternative version of the 1960s, hopefully Irrational will sustain a uniform art style so high-tech actions won't feel out of character/place.

edit: doh, Irrational, not Looking Glass!

The AI sounds like it could be something special too. The 2007 release date is a killer mind :(

I think the key to playable, decent AI is to have a few simple rules that allow for a fairly complicated yet ultimately predictable set of outcomes. There are enough outcomes that gameplay is still suprising and interesting. It's probably something to do with simple inputs to the system, but I had a long lunch, as it were, and can't think straight enough.

The art i've seen so far Pauleyc looks highly themed and styled, i imagine the hi-tech stuff will have a "levers and pulleys and valves" feel to it.
The last thing they will want to do is break the immersion after putting so much effort into it.
    I hope.

I was going to make a thread about this game earlier but then had passed out from sheer joy when thinking about it.

Without doubt one of the most exciting games in the past couple of years. But if it is going to be released by the end of this year, why havent they shown anything from it apart from the few screenies? Where are the trailers & such?!

    2007 release :(

I want to hibinate until it's released. I've been looking forward to it since it was first anounced and after reading that I'm even more hyped for it. I was just hoping for some System Shock 2 knock off which would have kept me very happy but it looks like it will be much more than that.

This and Assassin's Creed are at the top of my personal E3 excitement list - sorry, but Halo 3 schmalo 3...

System Shock 2 was genius (although they messed up the robots from the original - we had to wait for Deus Ex for proper vicious stompy robot action), and I love the premise and art style of BioShock - the visuals in particular really remind me of City Of Lost Children.

I really cant see how they'll make a ss2 type game fit with a xbox controller - I'd imagine it will be a nightmare to control

I hope they dont screw up the pc version's controls as a result
