    ...Has just started.

Mahmood, Plunkett and Panesar in. Why no Lewis? They put him in the England A team, which they say is for England hopefuls. He gets 9 wickets in the match while Plunkett gets 3 or 4, yet they overlook him! He's been ripping this season, and while I accept he's not The Future at 31, in these conditions he'll take wickets *and* take the pressure of Freddie.

Plunkett's too raw, he'll be expensive, but he'll learn a lot. But do we want to win this series or not? :-/

36-0, Mahroof's going for four an over.

Panesar's a mistake too if you ask me. I wouldn't have bothered with a spinner.

    He'll take 10 now I should think!

    lol!

I'm in the play-5-seamers-and-take-the-load-off-Fred camp myself, but Panesar's the best choice if you want a spinner.

And Strauss just passed 2000 test runs.

Anyone see the Channel 5 pre-match program last night? I hope they do that every time, and they don't bury the highlights at 1am. Although the program seemed to be exactly the Channel 4 program, even down to those bloody shots of cameras filming cameras filming Mark Bloody Nicholas. Still, the Analyst is always worth watching.

We seem to be moving along quite nicely at the moment, if they can get to lunch without losing a wicket that would be a solid start.

Good to see Jonathan Agnew baiting Geoff Boycott this morning too

"You're playing a few shots this morning Geoffrey - rather more than you did when you were out in the middle..."

Come on, Northants players rarely get a chance to represent England. He'll earn his spot in the team, I'm sure!

lol, not listening to TMS. Find I can't concentrate on work when someone's talking in my ear. Although not that I'm working too hard when I'm hammering refresh on the cricinfo scorecard. :-)

Just slowed it down as Murali comes on. He seems to be spinning it a bit, and he can bowl /all day/.

Yep, he can bowl all day but Vaas isn't going to be the same at the other end. They just have to be patient with those two on and then take the others to the cleaners.

not a chance....we will be around 250 for 7 and the go down fast. Still 325 isnt a bad score.

    Cook 120
    Fred 100*

    650-6d.

    Or 370 more likely. :-/

I'm not usually that optimistic! I just have a feeling they'll start the summer with a great big total for some reason.
