Just had my work christmas party. We are extremely lucky.

Out in the Cotswolds in a picturesque hotel, free 3 course meal, free drinks all night and a free room with your partner!

Got sloshed on baileys all night ;)

@MadCaddy13 - Lucky you! Our work Christmas "do" was a trip to the local carvery. Stingy gits! Aw, well. At least it was an afternoon off work with free food and booze thrown in.

When did naff Christmas jumpers evolve from ironic Christmas day joke to legitimate pre-Christmas fashion choice?

I can't believe the amount of people I've seen around the office and shops wearing them.

I have one for Christmas day, it is a reindeer with large woolly nose and bells. Makes a change from iron maiden t shirts.

Don't get me wrong I have no problem with that. It's the 'I'm so wacky I'm wearing my Christmas jumper to work' knobs that are bothering me.

I think there was a charity campaign a week or so ago that encouraged people to raise for Save the Children by wearing said jumpers. But yes, they seem to be all over the place at the moment.

I had to go do the weekly shop at Tesco today. People were literally fighting each other over food that had a slightly longer shelf life. Fuck sake.

That's nice to hear. The 'nice' and 'good' bosses died out a little during the recession. For me, anyways..

Work Christmas party last night, first one in a few years. Meal in a nice restaurant (although we were the only people there), followed by drinks in town. Only money I had to spend was for my taxi home too, so all in all not a bad night.

There's a lot to be said for having a good boss. It's great not to have people shouting all the time or asking for unreasonable things.

Aye - here's a good deed of his - about a month ago we had a few weeks of no heating, it was brutal. He brought in a few folks to fit it and spent a lot of money getting new parts. I think it was British Gas sorting it out and they messed us about so the company got compensated. He used that money so that us folks in the warehouse had a free stay at the hotel!

I am in full holiday mode and I'm working - it's so surreal and cripplingly depressing at the same time. Kind of like one of those nightmares you get when your at work

    BUT IM AWAKE!!

After this though I'm not back til the 6th so just need to hang in there!

Not sure if it's the same everywhere in the UK but I heard there's a spacestation passing over tomorrow at about 5:57pm that can be seen.

For anyone with kids it would be a good chance to convince them that Santa is passing over, look it up though as not 100% on time.

Will miss it myself as will be late at work tomorrow :( but then I'm off until the 13th so \o/

Not tomorrow, No it's tonight you silly island dwellers!

    /is at work

I decided to get myself a new tablet Sunday night. Picking it up over lunch. Should probably get some food in as well.

Spending tonight alone (a bit by choice, couldn't be arsed driving 4 hours to my sister's tonight after work ... I'd be holding up Xmas dinner for everyone until I arrive at 8 or 9pm). I have my secret santa gift to make it feel christmassy though. =)

MERRY CHRISTMAS you mopey bunch! :-)

Merry Christmas! Buying yourself a cool present is a great plan. I used to do that every year but fell out of the habit.

best thing is, it's going to cost me 19. I have 250 in "eco vouchers" from my employer that I'd put aside half a year ago and sort of forgot as I wasn't sure what to do with them.
Spotted them in a drawer on Sunday and decided it was Nexus 7 time!
