Interview with Silicon Knights about Too Human

    Just before Easter I did an audio interview with Denis Dyack of Silicon Knights.
    I work for a Norwegian radio program about gaming called “Hardcore” here in Norway and I though maybe I should make a special edition of the interview for an English audience. I did, and here you have it.

    The first part is about the history of Silicon Knights:

    Yeah, sorry about that, I forgot to say that it was a damned informative look into Norse mythology. I'm getting pretty excited about this game now...

    This has to be the worst game I've played in the last 5 years, the NDA is against my human rights after the amount of mental anguish having to play this pos has caused me so I'm going to speak out and warn you all to cancel pre-orders while you still can.

    Seriously, finished it in two sittings, two sittings of repetitive combat, painful story and graphics which wouldn't of looked out of place on a last gen machine. And don't get me started on the animations which I can only describe as being done by somebody reading a copy of 'keyframe for dummies!'

    Silicon Knights.. what happened?!?

    I really don't have the words to describe how bad this game is in almost every area.

    I have to say that everything I've seen about the game gives me the impression that its awful.....and whats with that combat sytem? who thought that would be a good idea? Ever?

    I was really looking forward to this, even with all of the negativity surrounding it, i just want a decent action RPG.

    Hmmm. This doesn't seem too promising either... I was really looking forward to this.

    My expectations for this were at neutral anyway:

    Turns out good = Yay!
    Turns out bad = Ah well, buy something else

    I wasn't looking forward to it.

    It looks utter shit in the videos I've seen... so incredibly bland and boring in terms of level and character design. I didn't once think the game looked remotely enticing or exciting while watching the videos. All I kept thinking was "Oh oh"...

    Oh dear, that doesn't sound promising at all. Really, really surprising though. Microsoft are normally pretty good at judging the quality of in development exclusives and they aren't afraid to let games go if they aren't up to scratch, I wonder why they carried on with this one, perhaps they'd just ploughed too much cash into it already?

    The reason I say, is because I think this might be one of the games where they make sure all the pre-orders ship before the reviews get published. So just a heads up really.

    He was giving us a friendly warning, and risking incurring the wraith of the NDA as a result, I don't think calling him a 'tard' is a very nice way to reply to his generoisty.

    Seems unlikely though doesn't it? Given how early they're giving reviewers access to the game.

    Oh well. I quite like Dyack but It's going to be hard not to give a wry smile when all his boasting, confidence and outright arrogance towards the gaming press and public comes back to bite him.

    I'll wait for reviews to come in but as of now i'm not expecting much, i trust Pirotic's opinions on games.

    Big shame tbh, as i say i'll just have to wait for Sacred 2 and Fable 2.

    I edited my post to reflect my views a bit more but if too humans that bad I think we have a bad reviewer to go along with it.
