Scratch that - it would be wank after all :(

They need to create a high definition Tom Baker voice synthesizer, indistinguishable from the great voiced man himself, before he dies.

And he can do all the episode 'log/diary' intro's for the rest of time.

    @dm

True. Just saying they've got the broadcast time for 'extra stuff' (even if they haven't got the budget for anything else, as it's just the main talent on the empty stage from the last episode).

They're often in the middle of having been somewhere or going somewhere at the start of the epsiode. The sort of thing in your example there is often stated implicitly as is anyway.

On the subject of the quality of this series, yeah, it's probably my favourite since the Moffat reboot. Crimson Horror is probably my least favorite of this last half - the rest I've largely enjoyed, minor complaints aside.

@tootr just nick his monologues from Little Britain and Randall and Hopkirk. I'm sure no one would notice.

I second that. I'm enjoying the overall quality of the eps for sure - I do think it would be nice to have another showrunner give it a go now though. Time for The Moff to regenerate.

I was thinking exactly that - with additional random who based non sequiturs like 'fancy a jelly baby?' dropped in like a ghostly echo over menacing moments.

I actually fell asleep halfway through Crimson Horror. Did it ever get better or was it just boring the whole way through?

It had it's moments DM but you didn't miss anything earthshattering.

Although there was a chance for them to emulate the amazing end of The Shat's 'The Devil's Rain'. Which they missed.

I saw an advert yesterday for the series finale, and the voiceover said "My name is Clara Oswald and I was born to save the doctor". So, they're still pulling that fate bullshit with his companions? I fucking hate that idea.

"Neil Gaiman has explained that he really wants to terrify fans should he write another story of Doctor Who, feeling that Nightmare in Silver didn’t quite deliver on that front.

Speaking about the pros and cons of returning he said: “On the one hand I don’t have time to write Doctor Who. It doesn’t pay very well, but you also have to rewrite it and rewrite it and rewrite it and never get paid, whereas in America you get paid for every rewrite… And there are lots of things including movies, novels, an HBO series that I should be doing…

“On the other hand I haven’t done an episode set on Earth yet, and I haven’t created a new monster. And there’s part of me that feels… I haven’t scared anybody yet.

‘The BBC website used to mark out of ten how scary an episode would be [Fear Factor]. The Doctor’s Wife was probably only a 2, maybe a 3. The Cybermen has a few little scary bits but it’s running at about a 5 or 6. I’d love to a 9. I’d love to do something that sends adults behind the sofa too and makes them wee. Pools of wee.”

Watch Blink, Gaiman. Watch Blink about a hundred times, watch it again then rewind and watch it again. Then sit down and write. While watching Blink again.

In fact, Moffat too. Watch your episodes in RTDs run and get back to that complete and utter undeniable awesome you used to write.

Ratings are falling and now a BBC insider blames Moffat himself.

"The 50th anniversary episode seems a good opportunity for him [Moffat] to bow out. Either way, something dramatic needs to take place to improve ratings."

On another note Matt Smith will be back for S8 he confirmed himself

“I’m on a break for a couple of months while I’m in Detroit making How To Catch A Monster. We come back and shoot the Christmas special over the summer, then we go on to the next series, which will either start filming at the end of this year or at the start of 2014.”

The ratings are falling because, for whatever reason, they have fucked around with the scheduling.

Well the scheduling hasn't helped, the recent episodes being a bit weak hasn't helped either.

The BBC can't really blame people doing other stuff because the weather is so nice at least.

    This space left intentionally blank.

Ratings haven't fallen at all. It still pulls in 7-8 million a week. The Daily Mail is just ignoring iPlayer figures to pursue an agenda.

So that Sun spoiler was right after all...

Matt Smith is really the 12th Doctor.

    Only one regeneration left!
