I'm waiting until people more eagle eyed than me work out how this fits in the fucked up chronology of this season.

Also, what a shocking waist of Ian Mckellen.

Jenna Louise looks like a pig, and she's got horrible tits (saw them in some BBC4 drama). You're all clearly wearing the Christmas Day beer goggles.
I think you might be ill.

She's gorgeous and, being a fine of the "smaller frame", I personally believe her breast area to be just perfect.

Biggest disappointment for me was that I'd thought they'd finally got the balls to have an assistant who isn't a "sassy" 21st century girl. Could have been quite fun to have someone more olde worlde. But no, we're gonna get an identikit assistant again.

As for the episode itself, it was shit, but still one of the better xmas ones.

THAT'S who it was. I forgot to check the end credits, I kept thinking it was Patrick Stewart.

Hot yes but even though I prefer busty girls I think Karen Gillan's hotter.
Completely agree. Karen is waaay better looking than Jenna. Imagine having those gorgeously long legs clamped around your waist...

In all honesty. I think the makers of Doctor Who have forgotten who their audience is. 4 excited kids sat down to watch this yesterday and all left the room within about ten minutes.

    No offence intended to anyone.

I enjoyed it. Better than some of Moffat's most recent episodes. And the previous Christmas one, which was terrible.

I thought it was fine and i liked the little word-games that were in the script. I'm looking forward to the next series now.

    Dog shit as usual.

Insipid emotional bollocks shoehorned into yet another story that was clearly slung together by a preteen.

Enjoyed the first two thirds of this, some good fun and the expectation of a Victorian era assistant was good.

Then it turned it turgid emotional shite reminiscent of Russell T Davis

It has to be the first show that has stories worse than it's fan fiction.

Matt Smith continues to be a great Doctor.

Jenna Louise-Coleman knocked it out of the park in my eyes. And what a sight for sore eyes - aye curumba...

Really looking forward to the next season - that trailer was great.

Story - was pish really but just along for the ride and have been for a while. That said - couple of nice twists and a nice nod to the london underground for those of us who remember our Troughton.

"Saw Neil Gaiman today ... his episode's good."

They have started to recast dead Doctors with David Bradley, who recently appeared in last year's Who episode Dinosaurs on a Spaceship as the big baddie. Most of us know him, though, through Harry Potter as the villainous Argus Filch he will play Hartnell's Doctor. "Whos" next ?

The new Ice Warrior looks good as it's surprisingly faithful to the original (even though some folks are whining about the hands ..... ).

Sorry, it's just Doctor Who frustrates me so much, it could and should be so much better.

No worries, I feel exactly the same way - it has so much potential yet that potential is almost universally wasted by rubbish producers and unimaginative and short-sighted BBC head honchos.

They can't seem to strike a good balance anymore. I find by trying to make each episode as grand and filmlike as possible they're losing sight of what makes it good, it also shows up the budget constraints. Also. Back in the day when budgets were even lower and people were scared by rubber suits it was forgivable to have a load of silly looking monsters running about. Now it's just lame.

Get Neil gaiman back to write more episodes that's what I say. The weird episodes are always the best. Even that one with Toby Jones in it was good.

    Prequel to the new series.

So turns out the Doctor is a kiddie groomer... hanging around in parks looking for children...

That's another childhood icon down the drain.

FYI both prequel episodes recently released are free to download in SD and HD on the Sony Entertainment Network.

    On soon.

May I be the first to state that it's rubbish and not as scary as it used to be.

    I still don't like Clara.

She seems to be forcing the quirky a little too much.

I wish they would just create a simple assistant who isn't some important saviour of the universe or whatever crap they are discreetly setting up for this new one.

And yeah... the episode is nothing special at all. I appeared to be written by someone who knows nothing about how modern technology works either. Why did none of the desktop computers have a mouse for example?
