Staying at short to mid range for the first Shannon fight works, but I got fed up trying to judge that and did the whole thing at long range. Assuming you've beaten up everything in the cage, you can just keep running to the cage doors, increasing heat up by taunting and duck-dodging the high projectile attack while letting the chihuahua bubbles bash into the cage bars. Unleash the etc when ready and repeat - lazy, but I found it less hassle than eating a face full of projectile whenever I misjudged the minimum range. Possibly not that useful if you're not stuck at DIE, since taunting will get you there soon enough.

I started playing this again, on easy this time (caps the difficulty at level 2, which I scarcely went above anyway) and I've made it to stage 6 with little trouble O_o

I've played it differently this time, making better use of the God Hand and roulette, prioritizing power-ups over new moves, and paying closer attention to my combos.

The only trouble I've had so far is with the gay midget power rangers. Oh, how I lolled - then screamed.

Agression is your friend with those guys, plus ensure you single out one or two and dispatch them as quickly as possible with some godhand and roulette combo's. Once you get down to three or less the fight is a piece of cake.

One thing I quickly realised is that I was seemingly invincible while running. I just kept running around like a loon until I could single out one or two then juggle the fuck out of them.

I guess this is how to do it. Heh.

    Goddamn, this game is good.

I finally picked it up yesterday with some birthday vouchers, and I wish I hadn't waited so long. Can't wait to get my teeth back into it tonight.

I'm going to have to dig my copy out and give it another go, because I really didn't get it when I first bought and played the game.

Got this game there yesterday and I fuckin' love it. Well worth the ten euro I spent on it.
I'M THE REASON CLOVER STUDIOS ARE GONE! sorry...
Any tips on what are the best techniques to get? Also, WTF is the Lvl.1, 2, etc. shit about?

Level 1,2,3 - The lowest level is Level 1 with the highest numerical level being 3, and the highest overall being Level DIE. During Level 2 and below, the enemies will not attack Gene unless they are in his line of sight or he is attacking them. On level 3 and above, the enemies will attack regardless of the camera position (leading to many offscreen blows or hits unless the player monitors the radar in the top screen). Also, enemy attack strength increases as the levels increase.

Love this game. Replayed it many times. As for combo's I usually start with jabs, then a hook, then something like a drunken punch, a straight right or left and finish with a hell kick. Really it comes down to experimentation. Whilst you can make awesome combo's a lot of the time you won't get to unload the entire chain. Also you have to decide if you want to finish with a juggle, guard break, power move or something that launches the enemy.

I usually stuck a guard break in the middle of a combo in the hope that the enemy would decide to block just before it hit them. Worked quite a lot of the time :D

Oh and the handplant kick is very useful. Have it set on one of your other buttons.

Cheers for the advice guys! :)

That guard break in the middle of a combo sounds like it could be handy..

Been trying to find this for ages and finally managed to pick it up used in Game last night. Once I'd started, I then ended up playing it until around 2am this morning.

Batshit mental, rock hard and yet absolutely awesome. I love it!

Yeah it's great fun but I found it too hard and had to restart and change the difficulty after getting about a third of the way through.

I've got it sitting on a shelf and I really want to play it, but it looks absolutely horrific* on my HDTV and it won't work with Xploder's HDTV Player. :(

    *Honestly, like, really bad.

Do I look like a rookie to you, son? ;)

It's running through component, but it's still a horrible, blotchy mess for me. Some PS2 games are like that - the God of Wars for example are all but unplayable on my LCD without the HDTV player. :(

I bought this about a year ago, but never got around to playing until last week. It's kind of funny how my opinion about it bounced around.

After 15 minutes, I loved it. After an hour, I viciously hated it, turned off the PS2 in disgust, posted a low-level internet rant and saw no reason to ever play it again. The next night I played it again and 'got it' pretty much straight away.

    It's great.

I think I got to that 1 hour point and not got back to it. I need some more dedication, Roy Castle-style.

An awsome game that will probably never get a sequel.

I'd say this is pretty similar to Fist of The North Star, character wise it is,

Those midget looking Power Rangers are funny as fuck.

Gene to the midgets: "Go on, keep rolling," lol.

In terms of gameplay, I think MadWorld is looking kindof like an unofficial sequel.

The elaborate style and content certainly looks pretty similar.

It's a Wii exclusive which mixes the style of Sin City, the violence of Gears and the gameplay of God Hand. You'll find loads of info on this here site.

It's a game where you really need to be on the ball at every point throughout the fighting. I played through this on hard and at times it was a terrible ordeal to get through. Those little midgets, the old man and the final boss were a total pain to defeat. The ending song is still fantastic and a just reward for the harrowing journey beforehand though. I love the whole zanyiness of this game and at times it is total bonkers.
