You know, the Wargames inspired multiplayer game by the guys that did Uplink/Darwinia?

When's it out? I thought it was this month? Anyone know?

And apologies if this info is elsewhere on the forum, did a search that gave me nothing.

    Cheers.

Defcon looks quite good. I just know I won't be able to resist just blowing up the world and get nowhere in it.

Chaps let slip in this PCformat article.

As close to a confirmation as we're going to get. It seems pretty likely regardless.

Heh, ta mouse. Never thought of that.

According to the site the team have 'low confidence' of a november release for mac. Which is a bit of a kicker as i'm on an intel mac :)

$14.95 over Steam in September. Bargain!

Yay for Steam making nuclear war easy. :D

But that's a game that really needs a beautiful packaging! Loved what they did with Darwinia (after a few months, anyway) - you could download it from their website, and got sent a boxed copy.

I just saw they've got new videos on the game's site.

seen them, so how do you play this game exactly, theres not alot of ingame footage of someone doing anything.
  • Deleted user 24 August 2006 13:03:35
Did I dream that Darwinia was coming out on Live?

And if I didn't, what of the oddss of this coming out as a Live multiplayer game, 'cos that would rock most verrily!

Bit of a Steam newbie - can I download Steam itself (without half life 2 etc) so I can put Defcon onto my work PC?

Also, how would that work? Would I have to buy two copies? One for home and one for work?

    Cheers!

Yup, you can, and no, you don't need to buy it twice. Such is the beauty of Steam that you can play the games you bought anywhere.

It really is very handy - I have all my Steam games on the girl-friend's PC as well, and never had to carry a CD back and forth. Log on to Steam on any computer in the world, and install every game you have paid for (if you have the administrative rights, obviously).

    edit:

And if you want a backup copy on a data carrier, Steam does that for you, too.
