Skonched heartlessly from this weeks popbitch, best of British freaks sounding off about watching dogs on telly.

Here's a highlight from Ross in leafy London:

"Crufts was great as it is every year. I think
we should have more dogs on TV, I for one would
like to see dogs getting better TV roles. I
ask you would it not brighten up the deeply
depressing show Eastenders, if we were to see
a dog on the show with a gripping story line
e.g. Rover & The Missing Sausages. Surely it
would break up the dullness we are usually
treated to every day of the week."

    Indeed, Ross. Indeed.

However, Jenny Croft was a little more indignant about the matter:

"Crufts is primarily about pure bred dogs,
NOT a promotion platform for promoting
labradoodles who are nothing more than
mongrels which are bred and sold at ridiculously
high prices often costing more than the price of
a pedigree dog to gulible people."

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off for that Points of View interview I told you about. Barry Took just doesn't have the balls.

They had the poodles crosses like the labradoodles on some program I watched. Poodles do not lose hair or molt so they are ideal for allergy sufferers.

So the labradoodles were originally intended to be guidedogs for allergy sufferers - a point the media seems to have overlooked since.

Same with some of the other poodle cross breeds.

crufts is primarily about watching posh people make total fools of themselves by fawning over their dogs. perhaps if there was a bit less inbreeding in the english upper class there would be fewer web fingered uncles in the attic feasting on buckets of fish heads.

I knew it too. My GF and I have been thinking about a Labradoodle for a while. They have excellent tempraments as well as being hypo-allergenic. It's great for me as I love dogs, but am horribly allergic to them.

    You're not wrong there.

My GSD sat there transfixed by the show!

But then he also 'sings' to the Antiques Roadshow theme tune too...

Staffies don't get a fair go at American dog shows cause they never win even the Terrier section. :(

A coloured Bull Terrier called Rufus won the big American dog show this year.
