Hmmm, at least they have proper gear and don't run about in shades & bandanas anymore. Vegas...Vegas!

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!! Can't wait for this little beauty - come on Ubi, do us proud - pull out all the stops and hang as many bells and whistles on it as you can.

I'll stake a large amount of $100 chips that someone will use the phrase "Always bet on black" at some point in the coverage of this title.

Terrible aim. You've got to shoot them in the face.

I hope it returns to realism and the style of Rainbow Six 3 and Black Arrow. Lockdown was shite!

Much prefer the rainbow series to the Ghost.

They need to employ a decent AI programmer.

Lets hope they don't do a lockdown on it.

I seriously hope so. Its never been good ever. It seems like they don't care or don't know. Really annoying. Get you're finger out Ubisoft/Red Storm.

Don't see any reason it shouldn't look that way, looks to be very similar to the GR:AW engine.

Bit of a novel setting, too. Nice. Not really my cup of tea, but nice.

The last screen has to be fake, look at the detail on the floor and the reflections.
  • Deleted user 5 March 2006 20:59:36
Please don't let it be fake.

    Looks amazing.

Few more screens (below the concept art) on Xboxyde. Seems to be in-game, judging by the lack of polish on the door in the first screen. Still looks very, very nice though :)

I'm not ashamed to admit it - I LIKED LOCKDOWN! As much as I loved Black Arrow, I came into it when everyone else had all the re-spawn points done and dusted, and MY GOD was the learning curve steep. And I know everyone bashes Clinic, but I find it bloody good fun when I'm in the mood for crazy "WAA!" action.

Either way, I'm really looking forward to this. Already nagging Ubi for as much information as possible. THIS GAME MUST NOT FAIL ME!

Nice screens. Yea the lack of polish on the door says it all. Placeholder In game. Really like the character models. The way they should be.

"Yes, I'm from Ubi, and I'm also part of the R6: Vegas team. Unfortunatelly I can't say much because I'm all NDA'ed up, but I know that those aren't PS3 screenshots. That said, XB360, PS3 and PC will pretty-much all look that nice (with minor variants, and I'm personally guessing PC will look a bit better, that's my own opinion though).

I won't be saying any more than has been officially released. Just clearing things up here. I can't be bothered to correct Fishie over there though, as I'm not a member of that board and I don't have time to make an account just for that. Who'd believe a member with just one post anyway."

I found this on another forum and think it fits well now. We all know it was'nt true but the games are showing now.

    1.5 is dead :D

    Team Rainbow go to Vegas

Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, announced that it is developing Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas for next-generation and current-generation video game consoles. Scheduled for a fall 2006 release and developed by Ubisoft’s award-winning Montreal studio, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas is the fifth iteration of the multimillion-selling Rainbow Six tactical shooter franchise.

The stakes are high when the world’s most elite counter-terrorism unit enters Las Vegas, where over 36.7 million men, women and children visit each year. “Sin City,” the home of the famous Las Vegas Strip, flashy hotels, high-rolling casinos and world-famous celebrities, becomes the setting for a terrorist threat of global proportions. What happens when one of the world’s most famous cities is held hostage by terrorists? Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas will be Team Rainbow’s next-generation console debut on the heels of the critically acclaimed Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and the highly anticipated Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent. Today, with more than 13.5 million units sold worldwide, the Rainbow Six franchise is known as one of the best multiplayer experiences and is hailed for its immersive single-player games.

Rainbow Six Vegas will push the envelope of technology through graphics, artificial intelligence, physics and animations created by Ubisoft’s award-winning Montreal studios, which house some of the world’s best talent, including Senior Producer Chadi Lebbos who was the lead on Rainbow Six 3 and former Hollywood animator Aaron Gilman who worked on such feature films as Hellboy, Constantine and The Matrix Revolutions.

“Rainbow Six is back and better than ever,” said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft. “Building upon the online success of the Rainbow Six franchise and harnessing the power of the next-generation experience, Rainbow Six Vegas will be the benchmark against which all next-generation games will be measured. With Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter being released this month to wide critical acclaim, and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent also due out this year, Rainbow Six Vegas makes it a perfect trifecta for the Clancy series in 2006.”

The best studio! This should be a great title.

Yea, all that 1.5 stuff was only fanboy fodder anyway :)
Good to hear that the game has a good studio behind it. Shame we have to wait a while for it though. Still got GoW to bide us over mind \o/
