That suit looks great. Any info on the game itself or has it recently been announced?

    Ooh! Good stuff.

Doesn't tell us a lot - I'd much rather see the article! - but it's something at least. Those 'Gatherers' and 'Protectors' look super creepy though, I'm liking the look of it an awful lot.

    /trusts Irrational
    /prays anyway

360 version out before PC though? What the chuffing hell is that all about?!

Announced in 2004 as a 'spiritual successor' to the System Shock series (Irrational made SS2, but the rights to the series are up someones arse somewhere, or several people's arses, and they're not likely to come out) and this is the first we've heard since then.

    At least looks the part!
I would like to announce my willingness to perform lewd acts with anyone in the games industry who have any inside info about this game!
Also I hope the main villain is called CHODAN or somesuch.

Not much variation in the enemies that they show, but man, are they cool. I like the look of it a lot and I'm sure the gameplay will stand up to it, so yeah, we need more courtains :p.

I can tell you with confidence that the villains name will not be CHODAN.

I still haven't played a System Shock game. Does that make me a bad person?

No, but it means you have missed some of the best games ever and your life is poorer for it. I suppose each one of us has a list of great games that we missed. For instance, I haven't played Ico.

    That. Looks. Lovely!

Pike - not if you get SS2 and start playing it within the next 24 hours. And marilena put it better anyway.

Well, I have been looking for SS2, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. IIRC, it wasn't available through The Underdogs, for instance, and it has been unavailable at retail over here.:(

Well I hope you are wrong, because if it is scarier than Project Zero I won't be able to play the damned game at all.:p

I don't know how well it holds up today and I haven't played Project Zero, but I can tell you that System Shock is the game that frightened me the most. The haunting voices of the enemies, which very often you can hear without seeing, the visions you have from time to time, showing you what happened there ... Everything is truly scary.

So, aren't there any pictures of the actual game, then?

It all looks very lovely, but also very 'staged'.

Looks awesome - I love the visual style and the art direction.

They don't give you much sense of how it plays, but I trust these guys not to mess up... mostly.

The trickle of media for a new game goes in predictable phases sometimes though doesn't it. High impact, 'staged' screenshots to show off the engine and the design to begin with, followed by actual in-game player perspective shots complete with HUD much later.

    I love this shot.
