It is, it is. But morally you're only halfway off the hook as you don't buy it to support the developers but (as it looks) for the deadly sin of greed.

It's not a rare game, though, is it? It's gonna be all over the place on Friday. You're just *assuming* it might be in the future. But here's my point: Do collectors actually buy things to sell them? I'd think they buy them because they're really into whatever it is they're piling up, because they appreciate things. Getting shiploads of stuff to resell it later on rather sounds like a tradesman than a collector, so don't sail under false colours! =\

That said, buying a PS3 to later sell on ebay is a good idea. A York certified idea.

    Uh, ok.

I'll first see how the unit trusts thing turns out, though...

I missed out on Ico first time round. Does it matter if I start SoTC before? I've got Ico pre-ordered from a different store, but no sign of it.

They're entirely unrelated. Play them in whatever order you fancy.

OK, I just thought I heard that the games ending makes more sense if you played Ico or something like that.

Thats BS its just from the same developer, no way does the story interelate with SotC's story.

I'm still waiting for Simply Games to dispatch it. What makes me think I'm not going to get to play this tomorrow?

Hmmmm, maybe I should cancel it and just go to Gamestation tomorrow...

ICO and Shadow of the Colossus feature separate stories, but both take place in the same universe so they're not entirely unrelated.

    Think Panzer Dragoon.

Should be getting this, but i'll need to retreive my playstation from my friends house sometime soon.

Also, I've changed TVs to one that supports 60Hz but with a B&W picture. I think I need an RGB scart lead. Will this one work ?

I'm trying to avoid the screenshots and artwork in case they spoil the scary colossi !

I did the same thing in the run up to the US release last year. It's a smart thing to do - simply because viewing the trailers online after completing the game and going through the most popular screenshots, many of the environments and colossi were spoiled. One of the greatest things about playing through SotC first time was in constantly being surprised by the art design of the landscape and the differences in colossi.

Particularly number five. I had my head splattered all over the proverbial pavement with that one.

Mine is still "In Progress" :-(

If it hasn't been posted by the time I log in at work tomorrow, I'll cancel the order I think.

    +1

I'm hoping simply have already posted it and not emailed me, I think it happened before, but it could just be wishful thinking...

Maybe Simply sent all of their first allocation already...? You could order from Gameplay instead. With 1st class post you'd get it by Sat.

Anyway just killed the first two. Am I meant to feel guilty, is that the point?

Is there a big difference frame-rate wise in 60hz mode? My GC and 360 display fine using SCART, but my PS2 can only do 60hz in B&W. Bit annoying.

Got my copy from Gameplay today - well done to them for getting it to me a day early and when I was stingy and opted for second class postage. :)

Can't wait to give it a good go tonight when the missus goes out! :D

That's because Xbox and GC output PAL60 for 60Hz, whereas the PS2 outputs "proper" NTSC.

When watching the pre-main menu intro, I imagined the frame-rate difference to be noticeable.

Any way to fix it and let me play in 60Hz?

There's a cable that you can buy, but I'm not sure which one. Help. Help.

RGB scart should work fine for outputting full colour NTSC on PAL TVs (it might depend on the TV, not too sure - I have a rather dated Hitachi TV and that works fine).

If you're using a RGB scart cable and your TV has two scart sockets, it may be plugged into the wrong one (only the first one supports an RGB signal afaik).
