Running! Each to their own, but not for me.

Cycling is where its at, on or offroad. Alone or in a group. I hope to be cycling in some way, for years to come too.

I'm a bit gutted as it's the Loch Ness marathon today. It was always my intention to run it but injuries earlier in the year meant I wasn't confident enough to enter. By the time I realised I was okay to do it there were no spaces left ☹️
I was supposed to be running it with my brother, but he had to pull out, so I decided to run Chester in a couple of weeks instead. Annoying as I'd already paid for entry and it wasn't transferable.

@freddymercurystwin best of luck. Just start off slowly and comfortably. I'm sure once you settle into it you'll do great.
Hardest half I've done to date, was off road and bloody hilly, walked up the hills on the 2nd lap, as everyone else was, did it in about 2.19, the fastest time of the day was only 1.46 so I don't feel too bad. I'll not be doing that event again though, it was not fun. Onwards to mid October for the Exeter half, tarmac thank goodness.

@freddymercurystwin bloody hell sounds tough. Sounds like a damn good time you got as well compared to the fastest. Well done.

I have Exeter half Marathon at the weekend, looking forward to it a lot more than Killerton that I did a few weeks ago (which was plain hell) hoping it's sunny-ish and good crowds. Slightly better prepared for this one though, fucking knees still aren't right though, suspect I need to have a month or so's break really. :(

Getting older and shit knees sucks!

Tell me about it! Nearly two years of no itb issues & I stupidly thought about gearing up for another 1/2 M next year. After sticking to 10k for all that time.

*One* 12k run later and it's fucking gone again.

    Getting old is shite.

I may even have to start stretching before runs at this rate. :(

    Getting old IS shite.

Tell you what though I changed from brooks vapours to adrenaline’s a few weeks back and I feel I have new knees. I’m bouncing up hills.

@askew How did you get on? Did my half in 1.54 so my PB has improved by a whole minute! Still better that way than the other.
