Maybe i'm missing something but how can you stop having to look after them? Like say you want to take a week or two off from feeding them every single day... it only lets me donate 2 or put 2 out of 3 in a hotel. "We can't accept this or you'll have no dogs left". That's the point! So is there any way of stopping to play it without the guilt of having the crater famished and starving in her own filth?

Plastic bag, duct tape and some rocks, nearby bridge. Problem solved.

How about looking at people watching you on the train, weeping your heart out and realising that you've wasted hours of your life on a game meant for little girls? That should do it :)

Get Animal Crossing for your GF, and you'll never get to play DS again.

Maybe you guys misunderstood...i WANT to stop playing it. It's not that i can't because of some "oh my god this is so brilliant i have to start a thread and tell everyone" reason!
It's just that...well, i'd like to keep the pup health in case i want to show her off to some one a few weeks down the line.

I haven't played it for ages - the dogs haven't run off yet, so I dunno how often or likely that is to happen, but they will be filthy and covered in fleas if you haven't washed them for ages ;-)

I don't think the dogs run away or anything, so even if you don't play the game for months on end when you switch it back on you only have to feed, water and clean your dog and it's like you never neglected it.

I've often wondered how, if the dog never goes out, it still manages to catch fleas...

    You can't I'd say.

You just stop playing. Then when you pick it up again in a few weeks, you'll need to give the pup some food, water and a good bath first.

I didn't touch mine for 2 months. Showed it to the gf th eother day as I thought she might like it.
She did actually but even though I left the DS with her, she has discovered the joys of bittorrent too recent.
She's got hours upon hours upon hours of TV shows to watch and no time for a virtual dog.

    Oh well.

Is there not a kennel you can store dogs in?

I think it might cost a few dollar, but they'll look after them for you.

(you may need to create a temporary dog to stay in your house while your main dog goes to the kennel)

I think it's accessed from the "go out" button.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but i know the trick. Just get a fourth "bastard" dog that you have no intention of taking care of, then leave that one in the house while your actual dogs are in the kenel. Dont just leave your dogs if you intend on coming back to them one day! They stop listening to you and act all twitchy and crazy if you just abandon them.
