Slightly OT, but I can't believe how good this album is (Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots). I got it yonks ago and have never listened to it until now. It's an absolute belter!

Does anyone know if At War With The Mystics is out yet?

Got access all areas passes whilst in London recently for the Kooks. Not impressed myself - although Naive is a passable track - cetainly catchy.

Apparently up and coming - and also down the tubes as they are now being played incessently on Radio 1. :/

I've listened to some of their other songs but tbh they're pretty shit imho. Naive is pretty good though.

    Pioneers - Bloc Party
    then
Come in Out of the Rain - Engineers (fucking great)
    finally
    Hoppipolla - Sigur Ros

Not bad, not as instantly catchy as Yoshimi. As I said though, I wasn't giving it a proper listen.

Cheers, might pick it up with Guitar Hero tomorrow!

You say Yoshimi was instantly catchy, but I'm only realising how good it is on the second listen, heh. Really enjoying it now.

Album of the year for me so far. Infact, bar Antony and the Johnsons last, it's the best album of the last 12 months imho.

    Edit: LOL at Silentbobs comments.

Antony is very good. Although I still can't get enough of Rufus Wainwright's Want one and two....

At this moment I'm listening to Put Ya Lighters Up by Lil'Kim.

    Very very good...

Whether you think it's funny or not. In this instance, he's right. New British music post 2000=absolute shite.

EDIT: All wrapped up lovely-like in my oh-so-very-humble opinion an' all that.

EDIT 2: The Streets are great though. And Coldlpay's first album's a classic, and of course there's Gorillaz. Can't think of anymore.

    Anyone wanna chip in?

I should also add 'that I've heard', just to counteract comments like that. :)

I thought I loved Gnarls Barkley's Crazy, then I discovered that some of the rest of the tracks on the promo for the album St Eleswhere are even better... eg. Go Go Gadget Gospel isn't just a great name for a track, but it's one of the other tracks previewed on the Myspace website, full promo available from the usual reliable sources.

    Could dominate the summer airwaves.

    Hey, someone resurrected my thread!

'C'est La Vie' by Jerry Lee Lewis. Excellent song. People might know it from the dance scene in Pulp Fiction.
