I think you'll find the Prophets will very much be a very important part of the Bajoran faith, given they'd been watching over for centuries. So thank them. Thank them!

Good news about Khan, though we knew that was likely anyway given there was no evidence except a rumour from a "source". It's Gary Mitchell, I bet. That's equally unlikely to be fair, but if it is him, I called it!

I never understood how khan would work in this new universe anyway, you'd have to do a long flashback, then flash forward a long way in the new time line for his hatred of kirk to make sense.

Or just do a rehash of Space Seed.

Everyone knows Jack Thompson - but how did he become the game-blaming activist he is today? Read Part One of my new mini-series!

But am very glad it's not Khan. Whole universe out there to explore.

Although interestingly, I wonder why we were so up in arms about Khan coming back, but loved it when the Joker came back in Dark Knight. Is it because Trek is all one large cannon?

The wrath of khan is one of the best films, I guess people couldn't see the need for a rehash. As long as this film does not involve any form of time travel, I'll be happy.

It's because TDK was a reboot and this is a continuation with an altered history.

Cummerbitch as a rogue starfleet captain would tickle me muchly, actually. It has legs:

    - nice analogue for Khan's duel with Kirk - two Federation ships going at each other.

    - useful antidote to the squeaky clean Federation.

    - resonates with earlier TV trek: The Phoenix in The Wounded, Insurrection, USS Nova etc.

But the reboot enterprise is still waaaaaaay too big and that stupid waterworks funpark of an engine room can suck my cock.

    @DFawkes

I'll pitch a suggestion of it being Garth, who was an insane Starfleet Captain that appeared in the episode "Whom Gods Destroy".

I believe they have changed the engine room and it's no longer a brewery

What the fuck made them think it was a brewrey in the first place?! I can understand making it look more industrial but O_o

Anyway, I don't think it's too big. It's the federation flagship. It should be fucking massive.

    Come and get it cumslingers!

It's odd though, I quite liked that industrial look of the negine room. It made more sense to me. There should be laods of engineers and stuff to make it work. It's effectively a space fearing nuclear power plant.

Yes. It was also cavernous and designed as if space was not at a premium. And had fucking giant pipes just to cart water around, hardly vital for either fusion power or the warp core and so probably to service the rows of luxury jacuzzis in the crew quarters, as well as the seaquarium and olympic swimming pool...

Looked as appropriate as a sports hall in a submarine.

Ooh, that could be a very good shout. Garth doesn't look a million miles away from Cumberbatch, and he was a Starfleet captain. Could be very interesting too, what with his shapeshifting. Wouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume the changes to the timeline wouldn't have stopped making him a bit mental, yet it could go a different way with the same themes.

They should do The City on the Edge of Forever. That way in this alternate timeline they can create a new alternate timeline.

I don't think they were able to find another industrial location with that much going on that also looked modern and clean.

Big with a purpose, fine. Big with that much space for no reason. Fuck off.

Hang on though, these are fairly minor nitpicks in what was essentially an excellent reboot.
