From IMDB "Rick Berman story", he's also producer.

It'll be shit then, considering how awful the last episode of the mostly B&B free fouth season of Enterprise was I hold out this much hope.

But I think the fact that the guy who wrote the band of brothers script wrote the script for this is a major plus point. I loved BoB.

BoB scriptwriter is good but Berman will just change anything he wants.

Until Paramount tell him to fuck off the Star Trek universe is continuing on its downward slide.

Oh and Razz the new Borg attraction at the Star Trek Experience in the LV Hilton is really cool, nothing like being hurried down a "space base" corridor while Borg pursue you. :-)

Voyager? I thought that was good especially Season 4 onwards.

I watched all of Enterprise ffs - THAT'S commitment :-)

Star Trek is the FIFA of the Sci-Fi world. Endless, boring rehashes every single year, pointless fan-service and utter lack of imagination.

Many promising series die in their first season because they're "not Star Trek enough". And for that, Star Trek must be banished. Banished into a sort of floaty mirror thing that spins off into space.

    I agree.

Star Trek is a benchmark for other sci fi series'. Which is a good thing imo.

And the fact that Paramount caters to their fans is nothing short of genius.

No, the fact that Star Trek is a benchmark for other sci fi series is nothing short of an abomination. Catering to the lowest common denominator, anything interesting, intelligent or different cannot be tolerated as the masses "won't get it". In many ways, Star Trek has become like the Borg. Ironic, no?

As for Paramount's 'genius', I call it 'lazy'.

I'm with Whizzo, I've got no faith in Berman. They should give the franchise to Ron Moore and let him reinvigorate it. And enough of the prequel series - the universe needs to be taken forward, not backwards.

If the series goes too far forward then it will be less sci fi and more fantasy.

The problem with going forward is that the future was pretty much ruined by the ending of Voyager. They went too far.

All this running around backwards and forward in time isn't doing much good, either. The series is pretty much dead, unless it somehow falls into the hands of a very good writer that finds a way to revigorate it.

I think Enterprise damaged the future more with thier whole death of Starfleet thing.

I stopped watching Star Trek seriously after TNG. It just seemed to veer more away from Sci-Fi and into the realms of soap opera in space.

Voyager had 7 of 9 though so it was worth the odd viewing.
