That sounds good, are you buying it somewhere or making it yourself?

Making it myself. It's pretty simple, just cook the steak in a griddle pan with the onions and garlic and let rest on a board, keeping the onions garlic and juice in the pan. Add chopped jalapenos and gherkins to the pan with a dash of worcester sauce of white wine vinegar.

Slice the steak into strips and place on the bottom half of the ciabatta. With the top half, rub with the juices on the resting board, top with slices of mozzarella and lightly drizzle with olive oil before placing under a medium grill until the cheese is starting to melt.

Add the onion/ jalapeno/ pickle mix to the steak, evenly distributing it. You could add a few torn basil leaves and sliced/sundried tomatoes at this point too, before topping with the top half of the ciabatta.

    Nom nom.

I took a Jamie Oliver steak sandwich recipe and made a few amendments. It really is lovely :-)

My work canteen is utterly shit, the twats pile MSG and tons of salt on every single dish.
    Cunts.

Hate this place at this time, students still aren't back so there's bugger all open bar the subway.

If I wasn't a fat lazy shit I'd walk down Byres Rd and get something there.

There's a good kebab place by that nice bevvy shop near Kelvinbridge tube. They do tasty wraps and they're cheap.

was ok. It would be better with proper chicken and proper haggis rather than stuff from tesco's sandwich meat section. It'll do for a lunch though.

Other UK cities have tube networks? Didn't know that. I can't think of another city that would benefit from one.

Yeah everyone sure hates getting places quickly.

Is this place on Great Western Road or on the Gibson Street side?
  • Deleted user 23 August 2012 14:33:36

It's on the Great Western Road. It's opposite a church, just before that right turn down towards the park. They're BYOB for eating in too.
