What I found happens a lot is that sometime when there is a sub.rar as well, that file would have another rar inside which, when extracted overwrites the main movie.rar. You would either have to manually redownload the main movie.rar and replace the wrong one from the subs.rar or when downloading in the first place, not auto-repair.

I hope that remotely makes sense! :-)

Well, NZBMatrix has served me well and are very cheap. Not sure how they compare with Newzbin though as I never really used them...

Merlins Portal is awesome and is free.

I do wonder is Newzbin were targeted because their subscription model made them an easier target for prosecution (or rather a harder job to defend). It was possibly simply because they're the big daddy of Usenet indexing though.

I find it amusing, however, that these victories always seem to be relatively short lived. Isn't Piratebay still operating, for example?

    Reading the judge's rulings:
    http://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/Ch/2010/608.html

"In my judgment the scope of any injunction under section 97A(2) should extend no further than that to which I have already concluded the claimants are entitled, namely an injunction to restrain the defendant from infringing the claimants' copyrights in relation to their repertoire of films. "

It looks like they are only going to have to remove the films and possibly tv programmes of 20th Century Fox.

Which they already did when requested. And you can still find the filtered content by doing a raw usenet search.

NZBMatrix are IMO better than Newzbin anyway. I switched to NZBMatrix about a year ago, no complaints at all.

Bollox...Newzbin has had to "temporarily reduce functionality". All movies and TV have to be manually reviewed seemingly. They seemed fucked.

Everything's still indexed by the looks of it, it's just not packaged up into reports now.

Since the ruling they have opened up to new subscribers. You don't need an invite.
