I'm really looking forward to this when it comes out next month, but theres' been so much expectation and hype surrounding this album that a number of 'fake' versions have already started popping up, and damn good they sound too!

Forgotten about this and haven't seen any hype, so cheers for the heads-up!

    This signature intentionally left blank.

Forgot this was coming out. Wasn't too keen on Geogaddi so hope this is a return to the form of Music Has The Right...

I thought the Beautiful Place In The Country or whatever it's called was their perfect recording.

I also didn't know this was on the horizon - let the excitement commence. :)

    Cool.

I rather liked geogaddi, but strangely I don't think I've ever (OK, maybe once) listened to the whole thing in one go. Some great tracks on it though, like the "1969 in the sunshine" one and the short one with the strange Jacques Cousteau type samples.

Just heard a couple of tracks off it. Really nice stuff. Ordering.

Wow, they really are fabulous... enough to give one a kind of chilled out drug experience without the drugs

The Campfire Headphase is waaay different to Geogaddi, so it might be worth having a listen to the album in advance to make sure it's still your cup of tea...

    I think it's definately a grower though.

I've heard Oscar see through red eye, which sounded ace. I love the BOC, so I'm very excited about this.

I've got a kind of desperate, uplifting joy in my heart after listening to tracks 4 and 5.

Strange you say that - as I loaded this page, track 5 was just beginning... I kind of see what you mean.

I've reported you to the BoC Mafia - expect a "social call" any minute now. ;-)

I enjoyed Play, well at least the first half, where he doesn't descent into self-loving pretentious egotistical gobshite poetry.

The Play comparison isn't far off, actually. I'm a big BOC fan, and this is by far their worst release. No depth! Just some pretty, loungey, chilled tunes. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not very BOC is it?

I wouldn't say there's any less depth - just more structure...

I'm sure that, given time, this album will be up there with Geogaddi (which I find myself listening to less and less these days)

Do any of you know if a official tracklist exists for the fake Campfire Headphase album? I know there have been a few fake versions knocking about but one in particular has been regarded as the best.

I know one of the tracks is supposed to be called Sedent Leaf, but thats all. I dont think you will get an official track listing for the fake album anywhere... How about making up your own names?

Having heard many good things about BOC, I just bought their latest album. Now I really like it a lot, but it also reminds me so much of Tortoise (TNT in particular) that I am almost a little bit disappointed in that regard. Don't get me wrong, I love Tortoise, but I was hoping for a little bit something more different (especially as I never really heard them mentioned as being similar).

    edit:

Right, I just realised they're even on the same label now. :p Tortoise wasn't at WARP at my time, honest. :)

On a sidenote, Tortoise have just recorded an album with Will Oldham (Bonny Prince Billy). An unlikely combination, but who knows Will be released within the next couple of weeks I think.

    /after reading thread

I wasn't too impressed with their latest after everyone falling over themselves about it. I suppose growing up on a steady diet of Massive Attack, Air, Sigur Ros, Future Sound of London etc, it seems they're not really adding anything to the 'genre'... if there is one that is.

Not having heard the new BoC Lou, I'm pretty surprised to hear a Tortoise comparison. My I suggest you have a look at Music Has The Right To Children for something that really sounds absolutely nothing like Tortoise?

I'm actually trying to avoid listening to their new one because I've built it up for myself. I didn't like Geogaddi as much as Music Has The Right... or Beautiful Place Out In The Country, and my good friend didn't have many good things to say about it either. Hmm, I don't want to ruin BoC!
